When you grow up in a small town, you have to learn to create your own fun, there just isn't a lot to do.

When I was in high school, the Dairy Queen was an old building, you had to go outside to use the restroom, it had its own door near the back of the place, the way a lot of gas stations used to be.

One night, I parked my car facing that wall of the building, and accidentally bumped my headlights to high beam....revealing a perfect silhouette of a very large man, quite obviously seated inside the restroom. My friends noticed it immediately, and they began bringing other kids outside to join in the laugh.

When this poor guy finished his business and came outside, there must have been 20 teenagers standing there applauding.

I'm debating what the high point of Sunday was for me. Helplessly watching the wind overturn a full gallon of white latex paint on my asphault driveway this afternoon or helplessly running downstairs to the sound of rushing water as I realized I ran the wash machine with a plugged -- and already half-full -- laundry tub this evening. The irony is that all that excess soapy water that flooded my basement would've been great for diluting and cleaning the paint on my driveway. OOF. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

The UW volleyball team was seriously jobbed on Sunday afternoon, on what proved to be match point for Big Ten rival Penn State:

Wisconsin State Journal recap

Sitting in the Field House, I didn't have the angle to see this as clearly as everyone on the court, so at first I shrugged it off. But once the opposing coach was quoted on how lucky they got to have that no-call, it started to really rankle me.

I suppose I could put this in the What's bugging you? thread, but I won't.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I.O.W.A -- Idiots Out Wandering Around. -- That should be the state motto

I was at a wedding reception on Saturday, and for some reason, the crappy DJ kept making Iowa jokes. I know some of the bride's family were from Iowa, but I've never heard a DJ go after a wedding crowd before. Maybe he was just mad that he sucked and no one danced to his beats.

When a TV show goes into syndication, how does the network decide what episodes to play and when? It seems as if the same Seinfeld episodes are played all the time on TBS, and I'm wondering why Fox 47 in Madison isn't playing more Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors episodes this time of year.

This info might be dated but here's what I (think I) remember...The distributor decides the episode rotation for off-network syndication and the local affiliates follow that schedule. The exception to that rule would be if a station shows a particular show more than once a day. For example if the Simpsons are shown twice a day - say 6 & 10pm on channel 24, the local station follows the scheduled rotation for one of the airings but has the choice one the other.

As for Seinfeld on TBS I just know they don't show the same episodes as Fox 6 in Milwaukee. That could be because of syndex (?) laws that prevent to stations serving the same market from showing the same content. Maybe, it's just a guess.
