Who's going to the last game of the season?

bigredrobbo

I'll be there, and I sincerely hope, to a man, that every single player on the roster is cheered and appreciated for a season that gave us hope for 160 games and removed the adjective "lowly" from prefacing the word "Brewers" for the first time among national media types.

If Rodney Dangerfield were still alive, even he would agree that the Crew now gets some respect.

Our players deserve credit for the division being absolutely terrible? Because that's the only reason there was any hope in 2007. Not to mention that despite the terrible competition, we were still only a .500 team! I'm certainly not proud of anything this Brewers team accomplished this year, I can't believe anyone would be.

I'll be at the game with a very "meh" and ashamed attitude.

Agreed, Valpo:

This team played .500 baseball in a joke of a division. I had a chance to go to all four games in this SD series, but I'm staying home. Don't get me wrong; I'm a die-hard fan and I really, really enjoyed this season, but after another "collapse", I'm waiting till March 31 to attend my next game.

Wait, so you don't care that the Brewers finally gave us something to care about in September? You don't care that they've given us great baseball to watch at Miller Park? So becuase they're not making the playoffs they stink and don't deserve cheering from the fans?

And no, our players were not terrible this year, and they wouldn't be given a standing O tomorow if they were. But they do deserve credit for giving us the best baseball season we've had here in a long time. Terrible would describe a team like the Marlins or Pirates. They were decent this year, had lots of ups and downs, and will end up right around .500. That's not terrible at all.

Not really. The Brewers didn't give it to us as much as the rest of the division gave it to us. If we're 81-81, 82-80, or 83-79 to end the season, in this laughable division, then I'm pretty apathetic about it. If we were 20 games below .500 in September, but somehow still a game or two back of first place, I wouldn't be looking to praise the team either.

But they do deserve credit for giving us the best baseball season we've had here in a long time.
It's AT MOST going to be two games better than 2005! And 2005 didn't have the monumental, heartbreaking, frustrating, inexcusable collapse. And the competition might've been stronger in 2005.

Ooh, I'll be there with my dad. I got the tickets after the third Braves game, assuming they were out of it and we'd just be there to enjoy one last game. Then the Cubs got my hopes up by sucking, and the Brewers dashed them, again by sucking. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

I wish my husband and I could be there, to cheer the Brewers in the final game of the season and show our appreciation. (My dad and sister will be there.) I'll be disappointed if anyone boos tomorrow, too. There were a lot of good things to come out of this season, despite the collapse (and we weren't the only team to collapse, remember). The emotional roller coaster this week has been difficult to deal with at times, but, like my husband told me this week, it's nice to feel these emotions at this point of the season. I'd rather feel like this now, than have the feeling of okay, whatever, that has settled in by the all-star break the past few years.

If we had the tickets, and could get to the game, we'd be there, not sitting home in "protest" of the Brewers' collapse.

You're completely right that it will only be a game or two better than 2005. I geuss the reason why this would be considered a better season of baseball to many (me included) would be becuase we were actually in legitimate playoff contention until late this week. I also don't think anyone would argue this years team was more fun to watch than the 2005 club.
