Autographs on photographs

Simple, quick question: If I want to get an autograph on a photograph, what type of pen should I have the player use? Will a sharpie be fine or will that fade? Thanks in advance.

A Blue Sharpie seems to be the pen of choice on most autographs. The blue ink shows better than black, and it doesn't dent the photo paper like a ballpoint would.

 

Not sure about fading, as mine are all in sleeves in a binder.

 

I do have a number of autographs framed behind glass, but they're ink on paper. . .TruVue conservation glass.
