So what did we accomplish this season?

I'm disappointed the Brewers didn't make the playoffs but I'm not upset. The Brewers actually played pretty well in Sept going 16 - 12. July and August killed them. Weeks was hurting, the pitching took a dump, and it seemed everyone except Braun was slumping. Now, if they don't make the playoffs or win the division next year I'll be truly PO'd.

We proved most of Rickie's struggles were due to his wrist and him not being able to make the proper adjustments. I'm pretty much convinced the return of his power streak toward the end coincides with the soreness finally coming out of that wrist--considering doctors said he would still feel pain in it for up to a year.

Carlos Villanueva proved he should have a rotation spot next year, period.

Corey Hart proved he deserves to be an every day outfielder, and that he's not going to clank balls off of his head anymore.

Of course there is also Prince, Braun, Yo, JJ, etc. as well, but those were three that definitely stuck out to me as something that was proved/accomplished this year.

I think the biggest thing we accomplished is finding out who on team we can count on. Who will stand up and fight the right way, when there's something a stake, when the going gets rough, when demands are the highest. And we learned that the two biggest wusses on this team are Sheets and Turnbow. I'm sick and tired of Sheets pansy-ass body. We need to unload him now. Same for Turnbow. He is what he is--a loser, a team killer. Get rid of him. And the same can be said for Ned, no guts, no brains, not willing to put his petty "rules of baseball" away for the good of everyone.

alot happened this season to be positive about. Rather than use late 90's early 00's logic on wasting a year of arby on young players, i'd rather focus on the fact that all our kids got to go through a real pennant race. We learned alot about our players. Yo, Braun, Hart, JJ, Price, Parra can play. Weeks showed great improvement too after coming back to from the minors. Hopefully Ned will use this winter to evaluate what he did wrong and use that as a learning tool for next. He really has no experience playing meaningful baseball and made some questionable decisions down the line. I am hoping he shows growth as a manager for next year. While we are all disappointed in the outcome of the season, i have great hope for next year (unlike in past years where i want to hope but its usually a very empty promise.)

Gee, I wonder why some players are feeling frustrated with the fans.

It guess some of this year's success depends on what you expected to start with. For myself I thought given a normal amount of injuries that this team would win around 85 games. I thought they would be contenders for the division partly due to the lack of quality teams in the division. The year played out pretty much as I expected. I was surprised the pitching wasn't better than it was but thought it was better offensively than expected.

What cannot be overlooked is this team never let up. Even the last game of the year they played to win. While this team did win only two more games than in 05 those two games are far more important given the fact that the 05 team had the identical situation to get that extra victory this franchise so desparelty wanted and couldn't acheive it. This team, one much younger than that one, not only acheived it but won the final game after everything that could be accomplished was accomplished. It shows character and that started with the manager whom this team seems to be following personality wise. They fight and scrap and never give quarter down to the last bloody strike agianst one of the greatest closers of all time with nothing on the line but pride and the other team desparatly needed to go to the playoffs.

This team learned that august is a hard month to play baseball in and some of that month's struggles can be lessened by better play in June and July. They learned that even if things go wrong in August that Spetember is around the corner and all they have to do is give everything they have to win one or two more in August because help is around the corner.

They learned that just because the team trades for someone it won't be a miracle cure.

What I learned is not to get overly excited by a fast start. If the team looks to be around an 85 win team it probably is.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.
