Why is no one talking about .....

Brad Thompson and LaRussa not getting tossed after Hall was hit? Both teams had already received warnings and another batter was hit, they should have been tossed right away, no questions asked, I don't care if it was intentional or not (I'm 99% sure it wasn't) but once another man gets hit in that situation, the manager and pitcher should be tossed. I do believe the homeplate ump made the swift toss of the arm showing they were both gone once the 1st base umpire ruled Billy had been hit, but nothing happened after. Why issue warnings if a guy can get hit, but nothing happens? I understand McClung's looked more obvious, but that's besides the point, as has already been brought up, Prince getting hit was obviously intentional and LaRussa and Thompson should have been gone at that time. What makes it worse to me, is Thompson found his grove basically right after hitting Hall and went on to shut them down the rest of his time in the game. Once again, I believe the umps screwed us over ... well and yost

I don't think Hall getting his belt nicked (or whatever) called for any action by the umpires. But I do think that given what had happened the night before they should have maybe issued a warning right away. Then if they still hit Prince there would be ejections.

I could be wrong, but I think they also have the option to eject the pitcher for hitting a batter intentionally, even if there were no warning given. I don't think I have ever seen that actually happen, but they could have ejected the Cardinals pitcher for hitting Prince.

I asked this question in the chat room and got no response. I had wondered the same thing: if teams are warned, a HBP automatically equals ejection, regardless of intention.

I've scoured my rulebook a bit and haven't really found anything on this. Rule 8.02 goes into detail about rules for pitchers throwing at a batter, but it doesn't go into detail about what an umpire can do, short of ejecting and warning pitchers and managers. It doesn't say anything about automatic ejections after a warning or anything.
