I pray dearly that there are no championship ring ceremonies involved.
Ugh, that would be terrible. Then again, opening the season at Wrigley provides a silver lining if the Cubs should somehow actually win it all, as the Sunday night opener next year being Brewers/Cubs would be pretty cool.

I agree, but that's out of our hands now. Although, there'd be nothing greater than closing out the 2008 season against the Northsiders at an MP bereft of loudmouth Cubs' fans because the Crew had wrapped up the division a week earlier.

Let's hope Overbay doesn't get traded. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I kind of wish we would play the A's sometime, it seems like forever since we played them although I am looking forward to seeing the Brewers play in Fenway.

From Adam McCalvy's notes column:

The Brewers will visit Boston next season as part of Interleague Play. It's their only road Interleague series aside from the annual trip to the Metrodome to play the Twins. They will host the Blue Jays, Orioles and Twins at Miller Park.
The Brewers make their first appearance at Fenway since they left the AL. Also, it will be nice to see Overbay back in Miller Park for a series.

I'm standing for Lyle. That's the first thing I thought of upon reading that Toronto is coming here. Maybe I'll put a big bandaid on my chin for a half inning or so. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif

(Is he likely to return to the Jays?)

It sounds like the Brewers have at least a tentative schedule for '08 now; and they've told season ticket holders to expect 2008 renewal information within about 10 days of the end of the 2007 season. In 2005 they released the 2006 schedule at fan appreciation night, and last year they handed out those '07 schedule magnets the last home weekend.

Of course, at the moment they've got other distractions.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

it would be incredible if both teams are fighting for the nl central again in the last week of the season to be playing each other here.

it would be a shame to see more cub fans in miller during the last series, when it could mean the playoffs.

Well, I for one will be doing something I haven't done in years: Attend a home game at Miller Park against the Cubs. I planned on going the past April when the Cubs were in town, but I wound up working instead. After seeing the turnout of Cub fans I decided to stay away on the next visit and sold me tickets. Next year I will buy tickets to as many Cubs/Brewers game as I can. Each game I go to means one less Cubs fan.

Hopefully the Brewers can figure out a meaningful way to try to keep tickets in the hands of Brewer fans. I think we can be beyond the point where we need to rely on Cubs fans to fill the park. 31 sellouts this year, we don't need them!
