Mike Jones

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but how is Mike's stuff looking these days. I see he's not performing all that well, but I haven't heard anything about his velocity. Any info would be great, thanks.

In the last link report that Jones pitched in, the local writer commented that Jones fastball was 88-91, and that his breaking ball was tight. He also said that was the best velocity he had shown thus far this season.

Hopefully he adds another tick to that fastball. I wonder how hard he'd throw as a 1 inning releiver just blowing it out? Hopefully, hard enough to get to the bigs? As for now, good to keep him in the rotation working on command and throwing that curve for strikes.

I wonder if he has added another option year under the new rules?

I think he is still getting lots of groundballs, so he's probably hitting his spots pretty well. My hope for him was that he would get his K rate back to the level it was pre-injury. If (big if) he does that, I don't see any reason why he shouldn't just stay a starter.
