Interesting Royals' story

jaybird2001wi
Mike Sweeney has apparently taken the role of English-Spanish speaking ambassador in the Royals' locker room and actually took up learning spanish to assist his Latin-American teammates in communication. I think this is really cool of him and it actually creates a good comfort zone. Does anyone know of any American-born players on the Brewers that can bridge this gap in the Crew's clubhouse? I know Bill Castro has picked up the language quite well. But any others?

I read a Sammy Sosa biography (lets not talk roids or anti-Cubs with this comment), when he first came into the States and was at a fast food restaurant with English-speaking players, he always said "I'll have the same" when the waiter/waitress came to him. Turns out he always got burgers or cheeseburgers at every restaurant because he didn't know what to say or how to read an English menu.
