Octavio Dotel

Just throwing his name out there as a potential FA in the offseason.

 

He is always an injury risk - so he probably won't cost that much money. But at the same time he could be a closer for us if he is able to stay healthy for a full year.

 

If we lose Coco and Linebrink - he seems like the kind of player I would want to acquire to help shore up the bullpen. He hasn't pitched more than 50 innings since 2004, but looked lights out against the Brewers.

I imagine he'll probably cost between $5-7 million for 2008, and with the production he can provide, it could end up being a bargain. But like you said, injuries remain a problem for him, but even if he's hurt for part of the year, it's not money totally wasted.
