Your favorite shirt...

bigredrobbo

What's your favorite Brewers shirt? Do you have a story to back it up? When I was asked what shirt I wanted for my birthday recently, I thought long and hard and came up with the answer.

#55 Brooks Kieschnick!

First off, who couldn't love the freakshow that was the homer-hitting reliever? Ole Toolshed was just a great character from an era when the Crew didn't have too many tricky 25 man roster decisions.

Secondly, I like to be different!

Most importantly though, I'd hate to get an attachment to a Braun or Fielder jersey only to have to bin it when they inevitably sign for an evil east-coast team, or worse yet, the Cubs.

*sigh*...

My dad passed down his authentic powderblue #10 Bob McClure jersey to me a few years ago. That would have to be it. I hope to keep it in good enough shape to pass it down to the next generation, a Bob McClure jersey will be the Brylski family heirloom.

No story (it's just very comfortable), but I really like this knockoff I bought at Uncle Fun in Chicago about six years ago...here I am wearing it in San Diego earlier this year:

(I think that shirt's game record is 3-7 or something, including two losses this year...maybe I shouldn't like it as much as I do)

The plain old Brewers t-shirt, with Braun #8 on the back. I ordered it, it took a while to get here, but it arrived on the same day that Braun made his major league debut... and the rest is history. I also have a Sounds shirt (black, with red/white logo) that I really like.

If I can find a Hart jersey tee that is actually my size, that might become my favorite.

My favorite "Brewers shirt" story dates back to when the "Brew Crew" interns used to toss/shoot T-shirts into the stands. One managed to get up to the terrace box and landed in the S.O.'s seat. Fortunately for me, he was off getting popcorn. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif So I have one of those, though it's not my favorite shirt design-wise.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I was given a Prince Fielder throwback #28 jersey as a birthday gift last year (which was Oct. 1, wink wink) and at the time, I said to myself, "Prince Fielder? What?" Now all I want to do is wear it EVERY day. My older brother got it for me and now I am just awestruck at it, gives me good karma when I wear or even touch it.

I don't really have that many Brewer shirts, but my Prince old school jersey is now my No. 1.

I've got a Jenkins button down jersey that doesn't look like any of the official gear that is sold. While I've threatened to burn it in effigy whenever he strikes out on a breaking ball in the dirt, the jersey is a reminder of the last game at County Stadium.

A friend of mine got tickets at the last minute. I gave her some cash and asked her to find me a Jeff D'Amico cheapo t-shirt while she was there. She had never been to a major league baseball game before, but was so moved by the ceremony after the game that she broke down in tears as the great names from the past took the field. She said it was really cool when the guy with the mustache came out on the motorcycle.

She couldn't find a D'Amico t-shirt, so she came back with a Jenkins jersey. She also saw a group of people getting autographs from some guy during the game, so she walked up and had him sign her official program. It hangs on the wall of my office in a shadow box, it was Bud Selig.
