Hardy's been nursing injury/ies, and it's much more important to get as much out of him as possible at this point in the year. Unfortunately, that means some off days for him, and a downgrade to our offense. On the bright side, Counsell now can't be inserted to take away and at-bat (or at-bats) from Braun now.

C'mon Crew - keep hope alive. I believe!

Counsell is in for Weeks though. And also Yost can go Counsell to 3rd, Weeks or Dillon to 2nd if he wants to and I think he probably will at some point.

brewtank i feel like your avatar, somethings he does i can't understand, because of 8 atbats he is going to bench someone who went yard in 2 straight days, unbelievable. I was just turning a corner with Ned and getting back on his side after the good play by the team this month and yet he reminds me why he needs to go.

Also I'm not a huge fan of Tom Haudricourt but this line from the lineup post on the Brewers blog is absolutely hilarious.

"If match-ups are so important, you have to wonder why Lance Nix isn't playing. He also is 6 for 13 lifetime against Hudson."

Well, in order to summon as much mojo as I am allotted to appropriate to the True Blue, I am unveiling my very first avatar!

Ta da, I figured it out.

I've been all about preaching the 'peak at the right time' religion... so no better time than now to start the 8 - 2 blitzkrieg into the Central championship.

Go Brew Crew!

So you're saying a .276/.447/.552/.999 over the last 28 days is less significant than eight stupid at-bats against Tim Hudson?

I don't get it, Ned.

Then again, neither do you.

The team is in a near must win situation and out manager removes our hottest hitter over the last month because of a tiny sample of eight prior at bats that have zero meaning on what would happen tonight? http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/eek.gif

I really would like to know what Melvin is thinking when Ned has been pulling some of these moves.Does he hear the lineup and go,is somebody playing a joke on me?This isn't true is it?

Counsell is in for Weeks though.

Indefensible - which clearly identifies it as a move made by Ned Yost. *barf!* http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/sick.gif

Actually its quite defensible.

Ned is actually playing the matchups instead of going with the mythical "hot hand." Once again there's outrage over basic managerial strategy.

Rickie may not even be the hot hand considering his opb. for the past week is .303. His power has come at the expense of his obp.

Well then Laynce Nix should be playing somewhere tonight. After all he's 6-13 against Hudson.

Nix's general uselessness negates any advantage the righty/lefty matchup would bring.

But Counsell's .640 OPS is valuable?http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/eyes.gif

Everything has a defense apparently if you listen to this board or the radio. We should never lose a game I guess. It's the same old story all the time. If we would have done this or that we would have won. Even the games when we only score a run. Amazing. The players need to perform. That always seems to get lost during our first chase for the playoffs here. Its all Neds fault and that is just old.

Great. Sutcliffe. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/mad.gif

Maybe Yost didn't look up the numbers that Corey Hart has against Hudson (.522 OPS in nine ABs), or he didn't look up Nix.

Either way...IDIOT.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.
