Is non-streaky good? (Lack of long streaks this season)

biedergb

This Brewers team is intersting, while they have had long stretches of playing both well (April/early May) and very poorly (July/August), the team has not put together very many long (5 or more) winning or losing streaks. Here is a list of streaks of at least 5 games this season:

5/4 - 5/9: 6 game winning streak

5/22-5/28: 6 game losing streak

6/18-6/23: 5 game winning streak

8/12-8/17: 5 game losing streak

8/22-8/28: 5 game losing streak

Now I remember that the Cards last year had 2 separate 10 game losing streaks. And didn't some other WS team have both a 10 game winning and losing streak in one season as well?

The question is does this represent consistancy and resiliency -- you lose but will be good for a win at least once every 5 days -- or does it represent inconsistency and mediocrity? (Yeah there's problem some common or middle ground, but for the sake of discussion those are my two starting points). From the negative perspective, this team has won 3 or 4 games in a row several times, but cannot extend the streak (case in point was last nights' game). Aren't good teams (ie playoff teams) supposed to get on a roll and win a bunch in a row? Or are good teams the ones that consistantly win 5-6 out of 10 and never get too streaky?
