OMG!!! Baby Coming EARLY!!!

rluzinski

My largest fear will apparently will not be realized. My first baby is due October 7th and for those keeping score at home, if the Brewers make the playoffs, their first two home games will be October 6th and 7th (and I have tickets!!!). Lucky for me, my wife was kind enough to grow an 8 lb baby while having slightly high blood pressure. Looks like she'll be coming into this world by late next week at the latest. I have tickets to to Thursday's game, so I'm hoping for a Friday inducement but I haven't had a chance to talk to the doctor yet. I also have tickets for Saturday's game, so the delivery better not take very long.

Just have to figure out how to fit some Halo 3 time in there...

Get one of these and you can play all the Halo you want while spending "quality time" with your new baby!

How is getting a hot girlfriend on the side going to allow him to play Halo and spend "quality time" with his new baby?

Congrats Russ!

Congrats Russ!

Yeah the chance that the women in the picture has recently given birth is close to zero

The only appropriate action is to hook up the xbox 360 to the hospital tv.

I'm proud to say we had the game on in the delivery room while my first son was born. Ben McDonald struck out 10 batters and Jeremy Burnitz hit a game winning home run that night. It was a good night.

Russ, upon seeing your thread title I figured you were posting from the hospital because things are underway NOW.

Anyway - I'll add to the chorus: 1. Hope all goes well with baby and mom; and 2. Hope the timing works with the rest of your life.

In that order. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/smile.gif

(If I win "beer for a year" at Fan Appreciation Night/Day/Whatever it becomes, I'll save it for you.)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I almost dedicated a thread to you today Russ, but what I was going to post will fit in nicely in this thread. It concerns a request from my girlfriend for more "quality" time with her in the evenings while I am trying to watch Brewer games. The conversation went like this.

Special Lady Friend - You are coming to bed now.

Katuluu - Just let me check the Brewers score.

SLF - Why do you need to check that now?

Katuluu - Because they haven't been to the playoffs since 1982. I was 6 years old then.

SLF - So? It's not like you could remember that anyways.

Katuluu - Exactly. For all intensive purposes they haven't been to the playoffs in my life time.

SLF - So the Brewers score is more important then me.

Katuluu - You don't know me at all.

You are awesome. She backed you into a corner and you gave her a guilt trip.

I thought the same thing. If there is anyone hardcore enough to post on BF.net while their wife is giving birth, it's Russ.

Congrats, and obviously the baby understands your circumstances and is being as accomodating as possible.

I'd expect nothing less than a good 'organizational soldier' attitude from any young Luzinski. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/tongue.gif

From personal experience I would say that you are probably going to miss at least one of those 2 games unles the baby is born before then. You will hav e lots of time to play Halo 3 when you are up at night with the little one.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Congrats to you, Russ, and to Mrs. Russ, too!

My daughter was born 3 years and 4 months ago, and the time FLIES by, so enjoy every minute. . .

And lets hope Mrs. Russ doesn't tweak a hamstring when its time to push!

Congrats, big time!

A few guesses on the name you might choose:

Manyan

Russ Jr.

Tangotiger

Opee S. Luzinski

Yovanni

Vorp

Wendy

Like any of those? I'm partial to Tangotiger myself.

I believe he's already picked out Saber Metric Luzinski. Now he just has to get the wife to go along with it.http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif

Thanks everyone. As for names, I mentioned this here before but if it had been a boy, we would have named him Trent. He could have been the second Trent to have made the the majors! Sadly, the chromosomes did not cooperate.

I was just kidding about both, really. I don't mind missing the regular season games nor Halo. I'll take a baby over both, anyday. I was only scared that I might have missed out on the only chance I may aver have on attending a Brewer playoff game. You have to draw the line somewhere. My wife conceeded that part of her was quietly rooting for the Brewers to not make the playoffs. I guess I can't blame her!

Heh Kat -- I had a similar issue last night as well -- however my wife was 100% bluffing and I knew it. She was hoping that I would chose the ballgame over her, which would get her off the hook, and then give her the trump card to be able to shut me down the next 100 times when I had any crazy ideas.

But to make a short story even shorter, I called her bluff, and 4 minutes and 15 seconds later, I am in my big chair in the front room with a beer, idiotically ignorant to the impending Yosting.

I am so smart.
