People rave about the Oyster House. I didn't eat there myself, however.

Had lunch one day at the Market Square. It's like a shopping area with a food court.

Fenway Park tour.

We took a bus tour of the city. I recommend that. I think it's bostontour.com or something.

funny, i just finished up the Boston report for my work. don't know if you're a partier or if you've got kids or anything on how i could gear my recommendations.

check out the Freedom Trail, which passes by a lot of the historic sights. might be a good walk, but the T runs through there, too. thefreedomtrail.org. maybe see the USS Constitution or a tour of MIT or Harvard or Fenway Park or Sam Adams brewery. or you could take a boat out to see humpback whales. the boats leave twice a day saturday and sunday in October for $35. neaq.org.

is that during Halloween? a good day-trip might be to Keene, NH, which has the "world's largest" pumpkin festival and makes for a pretty sight at night when they light up all the pumpkins. pumpkinfestival.org

Restaurants:

Durgin Park for local food.

Locke-Ober, expensive and good atmosphere

Sonsie, good weekend brunch

mistralbistro.com

Barking Crab, good lobster and fried clams, which are better than the crabs, oddly enough.

Legal Sea Foods--the bar serves a full menu, so sitting there might save you time in line, and there's always a line

if the St. Charles sounded interesting, to piggyback Team Canada, it might be one of these companies:

http://www.ski-paddle.com/main.php for Charles River Canoe and Kayak if you want to do it yourself.

Bostonducktours.com is another and they run the Charles River.

and the Charles Riverboat Company, charlesriverboat.com.

oh, and if you wanted a guided tour of the Freedom Trail, Boston By Foot is good and runs $12 adults. they have one designed specifically for children, too.

As was mentioned earlier Legal Seafood is a nice, yet pricey restaurant option.

My wife & I took the guided tour of the Freedom Trail. It was worth the price.

I am a fan of aquariums, and the Boston (New England) Aquarium does not disappoint. Make sure you go all the way to the top of the large tank.

We walked around Harvard, but that wasn't as cool as I had hoped.

I made it to a Red Sox game.

I did not make time to see the Boston Pops.

Do you know where you are staying?

Boston Beerworks is a great place to watch a game. The food is good and they brew their own beers. There's a location by Fenway and one by the Garden. The aquarium is really cool, but it's also $20 a pop. The Boston Public Library often has really cool exhibits that are free. For canolis, I would recommend Dino's over Mike's unless you want the cool Mike's pastry box. Skip the injectable cupcake place in the North End, though. Boston College will be playing a home football game that weekend, I think.

I'll keep thinking. I live here, so if I can be of any help, let me know!
