2007 Fan Fest, 9-15 ... Brewers Win!

Unfortunately due to health concerns, Nicole the Automatic Baker will be unable to fully celebrate Fan Fest the way she'd like to this year. Most commonly she caters the thing to degrees above expectation. This year however, the stress and preparation for such an undertaking would be pretty rough and too much to ask of her.

With that in mind, I'm going to take the bull by the horns and get this thing rolling. (How you get a bull to roll is beyond me though)

I called the Brewers ticket offices and spoke to Group Sales and found to my surprise that September is rather open for groups at this time. I think we can get tickets going pretty easily, I'd just need to get money up front for tickets.

CHEAP AND LOW STRESS FAN FEST 2007

Event date is scheduled for 15 September at 3 pm for a 6:05 start against the Reds. ( Tailgate Time is subject to change due to gates)

Basically, I'm going to ask that people pay for Terrace Box Seats which are $18 each. plus $2 for food and supplies. $20.00 per person

I"ll need to collect money for those wishing to sit in the BF.Net area up front since I can't afford to advance the tickets for everyone.

Next up is the issue of Parking. Traditionally, we get a tailgate slot which costs upwards of $160.00. I'm not going to do that this year. There is no reason that we can not collaborate three vehicles to park side by side in a row and claim this area as ours for tailgating. This is a $24 tailgate spot, not $160.00 The three first arriving vehicles will be moderators and staff members and will pay the parking fee themselves. Groups do it all the time, we can too.

Our next concern would be food. I have a great idea for that. Bring your own. In an effort to keep costs down, I'm asking that people volunteer to make something for the group. You don't have to make a huge amount, just enough for a few people. If you are going to make or bring something, please post it.

We'll be needing the following:

Veggie Tray

Dips

Chips (5-6 bags)

Fruit salad

Pasta Salad

Potato Salad

Something you want to make for the group

Soda

Bottled Water

We need supplies too:

Coolers

Chairs

Tables

I'm going to ask for $2.00 from each tailgate attendee for Bratwurst, Hamburgers, and buns, plates, napkins, and other stuff needed.

I will bring a grill and provide charcoal and I will cook.

Lastly, but probably most importantly for this thing would be beer. Simple. Bring some and share it. We'll have room in coolers for beer if you don't have a cooler. If you want a few beers, bring them. If you want a lot of beers, bring lots.

You don't need a game ticket to tailgate with us. You don't need to sit in our area to tailgate with us, ya just gotta contribute for food and stuff.

We will locate the pre-game festivities in the North Parking Lot. It is the GIANTS lot located on Story Parkway. It's the lot just north of I-94 where you have to go under a bridge to get to the ball park.

If you are going to attend I need to know a.s.a.p. so I can calculate food, tickets, etc.

Bring as many people as you want with you. Bring your Aunt Tilly. Bring Uncle Jed. Bring your neighbor, bring your kids, bring your spouse. Just come and have fun with us!

$20.00 a head gets you a game ticket and food. You can't beat that with a stick.

Deadline to get your money in is 27 August.
I will be purchasing tickets on 27 August and hand them out at the tailgate.

Please respond with your RSVP to this thread and again to me via PM so we can work out payment arrangements.

I already have tickets, but I'll plan to join the tailgate. Will gladly toss in for food, and bring my own beverages.

I'm in for one ticket. My wife and child may accompany to the tailgate, but probably not to the game, as it is past our son's bedtime.

Jamie, I know I mentioned bringing some grilling items when we met a few weeks ago, but I work that day until 3pm, and probably wouldn't get there until 4pm or so, so let me know if you have the tailgate part of it covered or if you still need me to bring anything in particular.

I'll PM you about payment.

While the wife and the boys will be sitting this one out, I'm in for 1 ticket.

First time I'll be seeing everyone, as I'll be swiping my wife's I-Pass to head up there. By the way, I can bring stuff, but you DON'T want me to cook, unless you like mac-n-cheese or Manwiches.

Jamie, give me an address, and I'll shoot you a check...

Sign in below and let us know what you would like to bring along. We kept prices way low this year and want a low stress event, but we do need help.

Thanks Guys!!!!!

If you did not get a ticket with us and you would still like to join in the fun, that's cool too. Just let me know below and you can pay $2.00 per person at the tailgate.

Oops! I almost forgot to tell you where the seats are located. I called a group sales person to arrange things but we ended up just getting tickets from the ticket window. Due to our group size we got pushed down to the foul pole. No big deal. We have TB 405 row 2 seats 1-8 and row 3 seats 1-6.

I was going to make a pan of brownies. Everyone at the library loves them. We also have chairs for ourselves, that I might even remember to bring.

We'll look forward to meeting Geno, and seeing the rest of you again.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Same here, Laura.

Tony! I can make sandwiches! I know how much Elaine says you like sandwiches, so I made some for when we go rock-climbing! Hope you like peanut butter & jelly, Tony! Wait. Me? Step off? Oh, no.....Oh, Tony....

OK, so I'm no George Costanza when it comes to making sandwiches, but I can bring 6 or 7 bags of chips, I guess. I'll also bring a cooler of Leinie's. My favorite mix of Honey Weiss/Berry Weiss.

Is that enough?

I'll bring a cooler full of beer and a couple of chairs as well. I'll probably bring one of the salads, the veggies or maybe some cole slaw, or a little of everything.

Just a reminder, I work that day until 3pm and haven't decided if I'm running home first to see the family and change or if I'm heading straight to the parking lot to join everyone. I look forward to seeing you all there. It sounds like we're going to be eating a lot of chips.
