Great Job Wisconsin !! - Attendance Record

AJAY
I was lucky enough to be at the Badger-Iowa game when Dayne broke the record and everyone had white 33 towels. It was the coolest thing I've ever been a part of. When he broke the record 80,000 people were quite just holding up towels, I get chills thinking of it now. Now this would be different but it would still be awesome. I'm going to the Friday game against San Diego so I'm all for it.

Yeah, it's nice that they set the attendance record, but I'm dissapointed with the expected crowds next week. I read the JS article this morning and it stated that they are expecting crowds in the mid 30s for 5 of the 7 games and less for the other 2 games. I've been watching these Cubs games and they are sold out on a weeknight. Yes, I realize they have 10 times the fan base, but they also have two teams down there, parking is horrible, and getting to and from the stadium is a nightmare. So, I would hope that the Brewers could have sellouts just about every game next week assuming they are still in a pennant race.

I think they're worried about numbers to the Cards series, as they've been promoting that one so heavily, but the Padres series I expect to still be pretty full, at least on Saturday and Sunday. I just tried to gauge ticket availablity online and for the final game you can't even get 2 seats next to each other right now, and for Saturday I got results in the upperdeck, getting close to the left field corner.

Yeah, with school back in session I'd expect some below average crowds next week for the Cards series. Of course "below average" in 2007 should be a good deal better than comparable dates from last season. For comparison sake, attendance for the last seven home dates last year ranged from 14,000 - 33,000 with only two of those dates drawing more than 23,000. This years last seven home dates include the ever popular "Fan Appreciation" night and two bobblehead giveaways.

Sunday is the last game of the year, it's not televised in English and its a full sized bobble head date. Even against the Packers that = sell out. Friday night is also a bobble head date so I'm not overly concerned there, I'd expect 36+. And have the Brewers had a Saturday night game that hasn't sold out (or come close) this year?

I'll pick up tickets to at least one of those Cards games, but I'm not sure which one yet.

I'll be there Monday, Friday and Sunday... I'm tempted to try for Wednesday but I think my wife wouldn't be happy with that.

I hear ya, I've got tickets for the weekend games...trying to sneak another game past the Mrs's won't be easy.

We are scheduled for Monday, Saturday, Sunday.

In previous years I'd said I'd like to be in the park whenever they get to win 82 - or if they get that on the road, at their first home game after. I'd be tempted to go to more next week, but September is a difficult time to get away from our workplaces.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Two years ago I found a Homer Towel from the '82 season. It is white with blue lettering and was sponsered by 1130 WISN. Somebody was selling it at a giant rummage sale in ?Muskego? for a quarter. The only blemish is the staple wholes where he stapled the price onto it. I was also able to buy my Uecker bobble head for $10 there.

i can imagine there will be some pretty solid walk-ups for those games. i think lots of people are still playing the "wait and see if they are still in it" game.

i want to get to as many as the wife and kid will let me get to!

Saturday's and Sunday's crowds will easily exceed 40,000. Monday's crowd will be close to or even over 40,000 as well. It looks like many people here need to explain to their wives the importance of a playoff race. All of my former girlfriends were told straight from the get-go the importance of Milwaukee Brewer baseball and Chicago Bear football. I may be single now, but at least I can go to Brewer games whenever I want, which is the far better deal!

I'm actually going Wednesday too now. I think after the Atlanta series the more nervous fans will buy their tickets (if there are any still available). I'm curious how the Diamondbacks are doing though, they couldn't seem to get anyone to come out in August.

Seconded - the visual was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of event, and I'll surely never forget it. I was a frosh at UW (same year they went to the Final Four), and was totally spoiled with the 'big' sports' success.
