Chuckie Carr, minor league coach!!

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or the Major league but, was reading this mornings Chicago Tribune and there is an article on former player who are now minor league coaches and one name really stood out, Chuck Carr! Here is the quote from the article:

 

"Take Chuck Carr, a speedy outfielder who spent time with the Marlins and Brewers, among others. Brewers manager Phil Garner once flashed the take sign to a slumping Carr on a 2-0 pitch. Carr ignored the sign, swung and popped out. Garner, understandably perturbed, asked him why he had blown off the take sign. Responded Carr: "That ain't Chuckie's game. Chuckie hacks on 2-and-0."

 

Sure enough, Chuckie today is coaching Houston's Salem team in the Class-A Carolina League?with, it is hoped, a different attitude."

 

I'm really glad he is coaching the Astros youngsters, Garner has to be looking forward to those guys getting to Houston!

The way Houston's big league team is hitting, I suspect Chuckie's message may have have already found itself back in Phil's clubhouse.

Kinda funny that he's coaching in the same organization as Garner.

 

I can see Phil looking at some A-ballers and wondering why they're so free-swinging.
