PNC Park should be a good place for Bush. He's a flyball pitcher who has a tendency to give up HRs and PNC Park gives up 10% less HRs than an average park. And while I'm not sure if this is completely true, Bush seems like the kind of starter who has 8 good starts and 2 horrible ones, so his ERA gets all jacked up on a couple of terrible starts. I'll take that over a 5.0 ERA pitcher who's exactly the same every start.

3 runs, 6 IP sounds great to me.

EDIT. Out of Bush's 27 starts this year, he had a game ERA of 4.5 or less 13 times. In a third of his starts (9), he's had a game ERA of 3.53 ERA of less. Here are his best starts of the season:

1 ER, 7 IP (3 times)

1 ER, 6 IP (2 times)

I absolutely love the symbolism of slapping the Pirates, Pittsburgh fans and the franchise with their 82nd loss of the season, can't get enough of it in fact. No small market mercy or fellow basement dweller empathy any longer. We are better than them and must act like it. Enjoy years 15 thru 29 of your streak of futility patsy creampuffs.

I know Gorzelanny will be out for revenge today after his performance this past week against us, but lets leave him feeling empty and Menched. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Hey gang,

The mods have noticed that there's been quite a bit of 'play by play' in recent in-game threads.

Please note the following from the In-Game Forum FAQ:

Should I be doing play by play commentary?

During Spring Training games, yes, play-by-play commentary is fine. However, during the regular season, all games are covered via the various sports websites in real-time, so there's no need to give a play-by-play or inning-by-inning recap, solely to mention what happened (outside of describing specific plays in detail, for people who aren't able to get broadcasts).
And from the Rules of Conduct:
Keep basic play-by-play action out of the In-Game Threads. It's fine to describe the details of a particular play for posters who lack video, but in an age of online real-time game updates, play-by-play one-liners (e.g. "Kapellusch with a single") are unnecessary.
Comments on game events should include opinion or factual information that wouldn't be generally available in the numerous game logs around the internet.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I like Bush just fine. Overall, he's had a relatively solid season. As Rluz mentioned, he seems to be the kind of pitcher who gets drilled every so often, which ends up overshadowing his other starts. One surprising stat I saw was that his last outing was the first of the season where he didn't go at least 5 innings. Obviously, we want our pitchers to go 6 or 7, but to be able to go at least 5 every time is good.

I don't like that we have to face Pitt's ace, even though we did do well against him last time. We're going to face good pitching the rest of the month.

personally, I kind of don't mind that we're facing better pitchers right now and for the rest of the month. If we make the playoffs, we're not going to be facing AAAA guys anymore, so we might as well see what we're really made of right now.

Howe about the following comments:

* Player A sucks!

* Well, looks like this one is over

* I have a feeling the Brewers are going to blow this lead

* Another missed opportunity. Why do the Brewers always do that?

I challenge the IGT crew to refrain from using any of these!

Jimbo, you need to pick another color instead of yellow. That's impossible to read. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
