White Sox extend Guillen to 2012

While he gets ridiculed a lot, he was the manager of their championship team. That alone should buy him at least 5 years on the job

Ahhh! I hate this line of thinking.Look at Joe Torre. He has four rings, and is one of the worst in-game managers. Someone having a ring doesn't guarantee success.

 

I understand that Guillen is good buddies with the front office, but I'm still suprised he got an extention *so* long after this last year.

For the record, I don't mind Ozzie, I'm more surprised at the length of the extension, though.

It looks like even Kenny Williams is buying into the whole "there's no explanation for us being this bad!" crap that Hawk Harelson & Co. have been spewing all year. Truth is, they were projected to go like 72-90 this year to begin with. I guess Williams and Ozzie will just end up figuring this out next year when they're fired at the All-Star Break and still in the AL Central cellar.
