Cubs vs. Cardinals on 9/10 - Who ya got?

i don't think the cardinals have it, frankly I'm getting sick and tired of hearing that they have been there before, so they will get it done, or they have the experience, Even with Mulder back, I still don't see them sticking with Chicago and Milwaukee.

edit--I'm pulling for St. Louishttp://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/tongue.gif

Go Chris Duncan!

I think either way this (five game) series is a win-win for the Brewers. If the Cardinals come out victorious in these games then obviously its good because it hurts the Cubs quite immensely. If the Cubs come out victorious in the series then it will keep the Cubs within a very legit shot at the Brewers, but it will virtually eliminate the Cardinals from any playoff opportunities, which could prove benificial in the final week when the Brewers go up against the for a four game set (emotionally out of it). I don't know what I would rather happen, but I think it'd be great if the Cubs lost four out of these five and basically put themselves out of any realistic chance of the playoffs. We'd also control our own destiny against the Cards (good or bad?).

Of course, if one team or the other only took three, then the series would be pretty insignificant, the above circumstances are just for a team winning four of the five.

For Monday, I guess my level of "grim satisfaction" will be more favorable if St. Louis wins. This is not quite the same as my rooting for the Cardinals.

As for the rest of that series (Friday-Saturday-Saturday-Sunday, right?), I think I'll take them as I will the Brewers' games: one at a time. Good Lord willing, things'll work out.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I got three 19-inning games so both pitching staffs are gassed, Carlos Z pulls a shoulder muscle pumping his fist after a strikeout and is out for three weeks, Pujols breaks a finger in a collision at first base, Marmol sprains an ankle slipping on the dugout steps, and Ankiel gets busted in a urine test.

with 5 head-to-head games in the next week 7 days, I am rooting for the Cards to take 3 of the games. If the Brewers go 4-2, the Cards 5-3, and the Cubs 4-4, it'd put us 2 ahead of the Cubs and 3 ahead of the Cards with 16 games to play

A lot depends, IMHO, on the Brewers in PNC... if they win two out of three, or better yet, SWEEP the Pirates, then a 3-2 series either way has the Crew controlling its own destiny.

I want to see a tie game from the 5th inning on until it ends, about 6 hours of rain delays, and the cardinals winning in about 20 innings.

Or...they only get in 4 innings, have about 6 hours of rain delays and have to do it all over again another day.
