Not really, there was a pretty rough stretch where they absolutely could not get on base at all. Their OBP is a pretty mediocre .329, and that's been a big part of their inconsistency from game to game. Run distribution within a game is meaningless (the so-called "add-on runs") but game to game they were (in my estimation which could be way off) more up and down than the average team.

 

That said, they can mash, which is the ultimate equalizer. I just hope next year we can sit around and wait for more three run bombs instead of solo shots.

A LF platoon of Gross/Dillon instead of Jenkins/Mench might help with that. Actually it has been helping for the last week.

Fan is short for fanatic.
