Help: NFL jersey vs. MLB jersey

tnweill
Ok, so I'm thinking about picking up a San Diego Chargers Tomlinson jersey. My question is, does a size 48 football jersey equate to the same size as say a 48 Brewers jersey? I've been looking around and a size 48 football jersey seems more like a medium, whereas the 48 baseball jersey is like an XL and is what I fit in the best. I would have thought they'd be the same, or am I wrong?

Weill, this brings up an interesting topic.

I recently bought a Prince Fielder authentic retro jersey, size 44. The reason I chose that size is that I already had a Red Sox Pedro Martinez jersey (not from MLB.com) that was 44 and still fits OK. The Fielder jersey unfortunately is cut a little differently and thus I haven't had a chance to wear it too much. And because it was custom, I can't return it. So now I'm looking to sell it and get a 48.

As to your question - I would go smaller with a football jersey. The Badgers jersey I got is an Adidas size L and is great (think I may have purchased that at a game I went to with Weill, coincidentally). I've noticed that if you get a football jersey too big the sleeves are always way too long...I wish that you could order them with elastic in the sleeves like WR's wear.
