im not worried about the padres. we have them at home and we have played very well there.

being my first serious playoff race, i love it all. strikes and gutters, ups and downs.

how did the cards get in last year? they limped in, they weren't juggernauts the whole year. were improving our play at the right time.

lets keep up this solid play!!

as a brewer fan of 37 years I would like the fans and bf.netters to show more positive energy versus the ever eternal negative energy. there are 23 games left in the season and we are on the road for the biggest road trip of the season thus far. we are playing well over the past week and i am proud of the brewers for not giving up. you as a fan can help by being more positive...if its meant to be its meant to be....i for one am not going to post another negative comment about the brewers the rest of the season.

Heck, the end was near about a week ago.

If you bought into that. Some fans just live and die with every game way too much. Not saying that it's wrong, but it's got to wreak havoc on your emotions and cause ulcers. I've pretty much stuck to them winning the division, and I'm going to keep it that way. Not that I haven't almost wavered a couple of times, of course.

All I am saying is give enjoying the ride a chance.

Looks like the Cardinals are a shoo-in for a W today, as the Pirates have resorted to putting the ball on a tee for them...

I hear you MadisonBrewer. I have to keep reminding myself that we are right in the thick of things. I used to imagine how great it would be to watch meaningful games in September rather than watch just to see some of the call ups. It has been tough to endure since we fell out of first and into third rather than surging late in the year to pull close. I just hope the law of averages works in the Brewers favor to the upside and the team can play great ball to offset the putrid performances of July and August. A .500 road trip is all I ask and then a nice hot homestand. How about getting hot for the final 23 games.

I just hope we don't hear anymore boos at Miller Park, this is probably the best team the Brewers have put on the field since the early 90's when the team pushed Toronto until season's end.

I agree, Ennder. Duncan's probably due to get hot again, too, because he's been in a pretty massive slump the last month +.

I think their pitching might start to falter, though. I'm amazed at how Braden Looper has pitched, especially lately, along with Pineiro.

It's all about the Brewers starting pitching. Look at their stats the past few games and they've been fantastic. If the starters keep this up or near it, we'll easily be in the race the last week of the season. I've been really disappointed with the drop off in the lead...but like some have said first place in September. I'm 23 and the Packers have been Wisconsin for my life...but this year there is a competition. This will make fall awesome!

I'd also like to add...I have a feeling Ben Sheets will be a stud down the stretch. I'm not a huge big Ben guy (due to his injuries), but the guy picks up the team. He always has and when he has been healthy this year our record is pretty darn good.

People keep on ignoring that Suppan was pretty sucky in his last win. I'd imagine Capuano was thinking, "Hey I could give up 4 runs in 5 innings too!"

I predict that Chris Capuano will get a big somewhere down the stretch. Almost by default, he has to get a win sometime before the year is over.

Yeah, we're in first place, but with essentially a .500 record. In an absolutely terrible division. So we're an average team at best that by all rights should be several games back right now.

It's better than not being in first place, but I'm not exactly beaming with pride.
