Is Adam Dunn on our radar for next year?

My gut reaction would be no. Whenever he becomes a free agent, I would be very surprised if he gets much less than Soriano and Lee got last year. We are going to need a very large chunk of money to keep our current players without even going after any free agents. I still think most free agents are a bad deal.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

The Reds will no doubt pick up that option. That being said I still wouldn't be shocked to see him get moved in the offseason. If the Reds do make him available, I would think the Brewers would entertain the idea of trading for Dunn.

As for if the Brewers would think about signing Dunn when he becomes a free agent, I really can't see it. Dunn is probably a 15+ mill per year player. There is no way that I can see a team like the Brewers droping that much cash on a player that mans a non-premium position.

Jenkins WARP 3.2

Dunn WARP 4.1

Not really such a big a upgrade as people think due to the fact Dunn shouldn't be in the outfield. His defense is horrendous. Also would be hesitant to give a long term contract to Dunn's skill set. I see him taking the Yankees OF or DH slot soon.

endaround is correct. Dunn's best position is DH. LaPorta was drafted to be the long term answer in LF for the Brewers. In the meantime, they could still keep Jenkins or go with Gross in a platoon with Mench or someone else. They'll need to spend elsewhere so no chance Dunn is on their radar.

We have enough players that cant field worth a lick. I want a guy that can field out there. We cant have a whole team of below average fieldes. That will spell disaster. How bad would our range be if we had Braun Hardy and Dunn on the left side of the field. It would be atrocious

I personally doubt that the Brewers would be able/willing to sign Fielder to the type of contract that he would expect to get. I truly believe the Brewers will end up trading Fielder with a year or year and a half before free agency. Similar to Mark Texiera. The best the Brewers, in my estimation could do, would be to buy out a year or two of free agency. With Boras as his agent that seems unlikely though.

All that being said no one can truly say what Mark Antassio would be willing to do with his money in a few years.

I disagree 100%. Prince is going to be the guy that puts and keeps Milwaukee on the baseball map. Mark and the ownership group know this. At this point, you let the money go with guys like Bill Hall and Rickie Weeks. I see Prince in the Brewer Blue for some time to come.

Boras guys go where the biggest offer is. There's no chance he'll be a Brewer past 27 or 28. I'm pretty sure Boras isn't going to be cool with Prince giving away his arby or first couple of FA years, either.
