That's the first time I've really seen them bothered by a loss in a game I have watched.
How do we know some of the players didn't have something to say to Ned (hopefully in private) after the game?

That's one of the things that bugs me with every situation and message boards/media. Take Sparky for example who will sit and call Ned out on this or that... We have no clue what goes in inside the locker room, it's all speculation. Ultimately the players play the game, that should never be forgotten.

I meant publicly upset. This was the first that I saw them publicly upset. For all we know this team might have known that Yost was going to do them in all along. I just haven't seen the players as dejected as they were today on camera publicly this season yet, even through this whole rough stretch.

Did anyone notice in the sixth Prince was swinging Joe Dillon's bat

Any theory on why?

did ned see this obscure stat and make him do it.

national league home run leaders using a 32 year old 4a utility man's bats are 14 for 23 when runners are in scoring position during holiday day games in the last 25 years.

That makes more sense than pulling Shouse because pence hits lefties 70 points higher than righties

Disappointing game. I really thought Aquino was going to get the out. Yost made the right decision to bring in a right-hander, although I think Cordero would probably have been the better option. Still, if Estrada could catch and Rottino's hit goes through, we win.

Yost has made some bad decisions, but I think he still has control of the clubhouse, which is what matters the most. I doubt he will be brought back unless we make a playoff appearance. If we win a playoff series, he should get a 3-year extension.

He hit #40 with it yesterday. So if it was Ned's fault Prince didn't do anything good with JD's bat today, does Ned get the credit for 40 yesterday?

I noticed that a few days ago. I could even see the #27 on the bottom of the bat. Wonder what made Prince start using Joe's bats?

A couple of days ago on the Cubs' WGN broadcast, Bob Brenly said essentially the same thing - almost word-for-word. Players just tire over the course of a 162-game season, so a lighter bat makes sense once you're past even the 'dog days' of August, on into September.

new poster mistake, should have read.

More of a introspective commentary on how upset fans can get when inning to inning decisions fail to work out.

I have been super busy and hadn't seen Prince at bats except the sixth yesterday for about a week. I quick scanned the in games but didn't see it mentioned.

Make a lot of sense to swing a lighter bat towards the end. Now that you guys point it out I think he might have done that last year too.
