Brewer Fanatic

the day the brewers died

afeter

A long, long time ago
I can still remember
How the brewers used to make us smile
And I knew that this was their chance
to make it to the dance
And make us fans happy for a while
But july made us shiver
With every blown lead they delievered
More stupid moves by ned
produced rage in the vent thread
I can't remember if I cried
When I realized this team had no pride
but it still burned me deep inside
The day the brewers died

So bye, bye to the playoff chase

Another losing season is about to take place

Only hope for next season is left to embrace

Singin' my heart ran out of space

The day the brewers lost the race.

--feel free to add the next verses.

Bye bye there goes another lead
Took the battle to the field
But the field was not kind
With good ol' fans screaming why oh why
Could this be the day that I cry?
Could this be the day that I cry?

Don't know about you but i'm tired of seein'
The likes of Jenkins, Hall, and Kevin Mench's
Constant swinging for the fences
On 00000000h and two pitches

Nothing says battle more than
That smile on the face of Ned when
The boys in blue blow another lead

Took a different shot at the chorus and a second verse...

Chorus:

So bye-bye to the Miller Park Fans

Just another gray October making off-season plans
The loyal fans were losing their summer tans
saying one more season straight down the can,
one more season strainght down the can

Did you try to work the math
And say this could be our playoff path
If we can win this many games
Did you believe just one home run
could make this autumn so much fun
And how would it feel if we really won
Well, I know that there is just no way
'Cause our players don't know how to play
They've all packed in the year
Man, I need another beer
I was was an angry, upset baseball fan
With an empty bottle and a dozen cans
but I knew I was a Milwaukee man
the day the Brewers died
I started singin'

[Chorus]

This song has 6 verses I believe...we could be at this a while.

The season started with a bang

With Fielder, Sheets, Hardy and some Hart

The air was ringing with Brewer banter

Yet the country still hadn't caught on

'Cause they knew that soon ... very soon

The air would be filled with Brewer blues

Brewers just keep blowing leads

Linebrinks on the brink of blowing it all

Whatever happened to Inman, Thatcher and Garrison

Sure coulda used them now

Maybe Ned will be gone after all

Sure could use a manager that'll try to win games

Instead of giving Cappy games to blow

Hold on tight cause the coaster still hasn't stopped falling

We still got yet another game to blow tonight

Your 2007 Brewers...a mound of success and a mountian of failure

i enjoyed your chorus. I have had this song in my brain since last night. It is helping me smile and bid adieu to a very painful season.

Here's my shot.

Once, a long, long time ago

We were told, "This is how it goes"

As I watched our Central lead dwindle

I glanced at the dugout to see if a fire kindled

As I watched Johnny beat Ned down

I asked myself, "Who is this clown"

Right then he came out to the mound

"You got enough left?" he said with a frown

He left his guy in for one more batter

6-0 leads are sure to get fatter

"Stay the course," Ned said with a smile

The day the Brewers died

Bye bye another ball on the fly

Ned went back to the bullpen

But the bullpen went dry

All the fans get drunk, sit around and cry

Why Ned, why oh why?

I say Why Ned, why oh why?
