recent non-roster invitees with 30 home runs--braun

djoctagone

carlos pena was a non-roster invitee this season for the devil rays and has become the fifth player in the last 25 years to hit 30-plus home runs after being a non-roster invitee to spring training.

he joins: dave kingman (35, oakland, 1984), albert pujols (37, st. louis, 2001), john jaha (35, oakland, 1999) and jose guillen (31, cincinnati and oakland, 2003).

with ryan braun currently at 25, he has a shot at this feat.

That's good and all, but I don't think it's that crazy of a thing that he was a spring training non-roster player. We all knew why he wasn't up with the team and we all knew he could hit...maybe not this well, but it wasn't like Braun was a below average 30+ year old that came up and did it.
