Looking at the Brewers players on the bench during the 8th inning really irritated and made me quite sad. Everyone with a blank stare on their face, no one up at the top of the steps during the Gross at bat. This team just looks like they quit on Yost.

.

I didn't notice that but it is pathetic. I was into that at bat big time. Those are crucial situations. They make the game great. Maybe the team has quit on itself too for some reason. No way I'm not totally pumped for an at bat like that.

If Suppan blows up then the arguement is that are pitchers always blow up in the 6/7th so why wasnt Yost ready? Cant blame Yost here.

Yes you can. Why let Suppan hit if you are only going to let him face one batter.

Shouse in the 7th would have given the Brewers a better opportunity to get us through the 7th considering the Cubs had 2 lefties due up that inning.

Like I said before...you can justify many of Yosts decisions all year long. (Well, maybe a few of them are without reason)

But it is not like we are just losing games. the Brewers are consistently giving away games. That is why people are so frustrated. That is the 18th game the Brewers have lost even though they led by 3 runs. That is where Yosts accountability comes into play. You need to teach and make adjustments so these things dont happen consistently. Heck it should maybe happen 6 times a year at most and we are at 18 games with 30 left. Amazing!

LMAO you guys are all hilarous. What was the game in San Fran Sunday any differen't? Bush allowed 1 or 2 runs in the 6th, nexy guy reaches 1st, Bush gives up the hr in the 7th. Pitch count around 70. Same situation has today and Yost did the opposite and all you guys are ripping on him? Why?

Because if Ned was going to take Soup out if one runner got on, why in the %&*( not pinch hit for him in the top with a runner on and 1 out

Ned makes my head hurt. He looks like he's just managing by the seat of his pants. Have a plan! Either PH for Suppan and play for the big inning in the 6th or let him bat and stick with him for a bit in the 7th. You could make an argument for either one of those plans, but you can't make an argument to support the way he did things tonight. It's like he wasn't sure what to do, so he just hedged his bets.

Oh, and Ned...that lefty specialist you have? Was he trapped under something in the 7th? Because that's about the only good reason for not bringing him in.

Very tough loss to swallow tonight, especially with Suppan pitching so well. While it'd be easy to point the finger at one person or another (Linebrink didn't get it done, for starters), the entire team pretty much stunk tonight. They knew that the wind was blowing out tonight, and it's like as soon as they saw how far their balls were carrying during BP, they all decided to try and swing for the fences tonight...the entire offensive approach stunk. Hart was pretty lucky to even drive in the 3 runs he did considering the sac fly should've been a weak foul ball into the seats and he got fooled on the bloop single that plated two runs.

The good news is that there are two more games in this series, which is plenty of time to undo the atrocities of tonight. It looks like Benny's going to be pitching tomorrow and Zambrano has been extremely hittable lately (unlike Hill, who's been hot), so here's to hoping the Brewers get this one back again tomorrow. I'm not even going to sweat the standings stuff for now, since the 3 teams are so close and there's so much ball to be played yet that the top 3 teams in this division will likely be shuffled every other day. Go Brewers!

I am going to be awake all night tonight asking myself the same thing . .

"Why didn't Ned bring in Shouse to face Jacque Jones with the game on the line?"

"Why didn't Ned bring in Shouse to face Jacque Jones with the game on the line?"

"Why didn't Ned bring in Shouse to face Jacque Jones with the game on the line?"

"Why didn't Ned bring in Shouse to face Jacque Jones with the game on the line?"

It's gonna be a long sleepless night.

After hearing ned yost's post game conference, i think he's confused and thinks he's managing a little league team. Seriously ned, doing your best in this level doesn't mean it was a good thing. if the best they have is crap, then they shouldn't be playing!

I blame Bob Uecker for tonight's loss. He sang during the 7th inning stretch and riled the Chicago crowd up. The Cubs then went on to score 4 in the bottom half.

But seriously, same crap, different day. Suppan pitched really well, even as 670 AM's DJs were calling this day the "official Jeff Suppan ass-kicking day" or something like that.

We were way up in the right field corner, and there were plenty of Brewer fans in our section, so that made it kind of fun. I just wish the final result would've been better, Suppan deserved a win.

While it's still excellent that they were 48-34, again 14 games over, it still meant they had only been a .500 team since they had been 24-10.
But it they had just kept playing .500 ball, they would be 72-59 and still be 4.5 games ahead of the cubs. I told my brother when we were 24-10 that all we had to do was play .500 ball for the rest of the season and the central would be ours. We're 18-32 for our last 50 games if I counted right. That's something right out of 2002 when we dumped that bad manager.

I'm going to pick out a couple of positives out of the game. Weeks not only getting to the ball on the SS side of 2nd base, but making a STRONG throw to Prince. I want to say that was the 4th or 5th inning. Also, Soup pitched VERY well. That's the Soup I was expecting this year. But, hopefully he settles in over the next month and pitches like this the rest of the way. Linebrink made mistakes and got hit. Let's get Benny on the hill, and beat up Zambrano tonight!
