How SWEEP its gonna be!

ELCABALLO45

Ok feel free to move this BUT, a sweep is about to happen. Im sorry... but its going to. We have been playing so bad and so frustrating. We can't pitch and we can't do nothing right excpet hit the ball around when its 0-0. Well... we are back to .500 Back to being avg.

We now have a HUGE series coming up against the sCrUBS. The mighty Cubs I might add. Sorry to say this but Chicago enjoy your last days in first place..THE BREWERS are going to SWEEP the Cubs.

I say we have a no negative comment rule UNTIL we go under .500 or are elimnated from the post season. We are back to .500. we are 0-0. Lets try to forget about how horrible we have been playing and just hit the restart button in your head on Monday and then on Tuesday come to the board with a fresh mind and a thinking that we are going to sweep the Cubs. Ok maybe I sound stupid but.. ITS GONNA HAPPEN. And no im not talking about the Cubs in Sports Illistrated im talking.. SWEEP IN THE WINDY CITY!!

Go Brewers!

Suppan vs. Hill

Vargas vs. Zambrano

Gallardo vs. Lilly

Advantage: Cubs

Although I agree with you, I"m trying to feel optimistic, so I'll just say that anything can happen with pitching matchups. Suppan may be solid, Yo might bounce back, and Vargas........ well, he'll probably suck. I want to agree with the original poster with the sweep, but I'd be delighted to take 2 of 3.

I don't know how well that will go over.

I don't really see a sweep happening either way this series. If the Brewers get a sweep, I won't complain that I'm wrong. But a Cubs sweep would probably put a damper on any optimism that's still out there, to say the least. I'm thinking 1-2 with Soup, CV and Yo pitching, and 2-1 if it's Soup, Sheets and Vargas/Yo. The Brewers seem to play well at Wrigley, sometimes, and Prince loves putting them in the basket over the ivy. Outside on Hall and Rickie, everyones hit pretty well there this year, albeit in a very small sample.

I would love to believe that my boys are going to go into a divisional rival's stadium and do something they haven't done in 3 years at the most critical time in the franchise's last 15 years. I really would.

So for the sake of this thread, it's gonna be totally sweep when it happens, baby! Huh? Who's with me (offering a high five to anyone who will give me one). It is nice to read some optimism. I'm gonna go with the 0-0 thing. I can make that work.

I love this thread's attitude, especially in the hazy, dark atmosphere that the Brew Crew has created around here lately that so many seem too eager to embrace.

However, I'll take two wins this series...heck, just one I'll live with. This last series in SF proved that pitching matchups don't mean much on paper and the Brewers have responded well to impending doom this year so I feel the Crew will pull it together to keep us at least hanging on like an old girlfriend this week.

Speaking of boosts in morale, Lou announced after the Cubs game on Sunday that Soriano would be actiated on Tuesday and will be leading off against the Brewers that night.

Vargas obviously isn't going to pitch during the series now that he's hurt, so hopefully Sheets can take his place.

The funny thing is that the Cubs would probably be better off with Soriano hitting 5th, not 1st.

I don't personally see a sweep happening either way. Even if the Brewers manage to only win one game of this series, it wouldn't be the end of the division race. It would've been a missed opportunity, but both the Brewers and the Cubs have had more than their fair share of missed opportunities during the past month or two.
