I find this forum very laughable

You are all the pompus ones when we are 8 games ahead (ie Cubs jokes, players that couldn't dream of suiting up for the Brewers when they get DFA's, traded, or signed to a slightly above market deak), well, you should also be able to handle the downward slopes of the season, and see this team is just an average to above average team. When we were 8 games ahead in June, the World Series was a mortal lock.

The arrogance of most here when we were 8 games ahead makes me think karma has a huge role in this HUGE slump.

The arrogance of most here...

I could just as easily say that most posters here have been waiting for the bottom to fall out since the 24-10 start. Though I suppose their anxiety has caused the Brewers to press, which in turn has caused this slump.

Igore comments. I'm not taking the bait.

Not saying that. It just seems most people here who were slinging mud back in June can't handle the fact we aren't as good over 130 games that over 50 games.

Maybe it's a good lesson to wait until at least August till we crown ourselves division champs.

OK. Sorry. I thought you were making an emotionally driven post to stir people up. In response, I made an emotionally driven reply. I get a little testy from time to time.

To that end, you're right. I think people take the football mentality into baseball and you can't. Every come from behind win is the "biggest" win of the year and vice versa. Even keel. Fairways and greens. Be the ball.

You still lost me on the karma thing though.

St Louis is still under .500, so lets not declare them the central division champs quite yet. I do agree that there was a lot of premature talk back in June, but i think there's a better way of pointing that out that how you did in your original post.

Words from fans on a message board are what caused the team to drop to .500?

As if fans from OTHER teams don't also talk trash on their message boards.

I'm just saying it's comical that in June, people were penciling us in the World Series, and now we have people breaking down emotionally (ie AJAY).

This whole tailspin is actually giving people a good lesson on how baseball works. Maybe they should think about the things they say in June.

a. Who was penciling us into the World Series in June?

b. I'm glad AJAY's frustration amuses you.

c. I'm sure glad we have somebody like you to put us through the school of hard knocks on "how baseball works."

d. Why should people be careful what they say in June? If every fanbase who got confident while their team was winning had their team fall apart, it would happen to every team. You seem to still be implying that the fans somehow caused or deserved a Brewer meltdown, which is ludicrous.

e. You're acting like a jerk.

I didn't post any back in June but i remember reading a lot of posts talking about how there were a lot games left and almost everyone said it was way too early to talk about the postseason. I respected that the people on this board were talking about the weaknesses of the team even when they were 24-10

I don't know how old you are, but I have been waiting 25 years to see a Brewers postseason game. I have also spent a lot of money on tickets and spent a lot of time watching this team. I know nobody forces me to do that, but I have every right to vent some frustration.

When it comes to sports, the only thing I care about is Brewers baseball. It makes me sick that my favorite team in my favorite sport in my own hometown has to be the one that always seems to choke and fall short.

And just for the record, I never took this division for granted.

I also disagree that this meltdown is a lesson in how baseball works. The way it works is that you are supposed to be good and make it to the playoffs every so often. If you want to talk about peaks and valleys, it's time for this franchise to be good for a change . . . and I don't mean being in the playoffs with a mediocre record from a crappy division.
