2007 Brewers = 1977 Cubs

JohnBriggs12

On June 28, 1977, the Cubs were 47-22, and led the NL East by 8 1/2 games.

They lost their final game of the year to finish 81-81, winding up 20 games behind.

On June 28, 2007, the Brewers were 46-32 and led the NL Central by 7 1/2 games.

They are now .500.

At least the Cubs had good teams in their division.

I'd rather draw the comparison to the 2001 Twins, who were 56-32 on July 12th and went 29-45 the rest of the way to finish 85-77. I'm pretty sure I recall that the Twins set a record for laregest disparity between pre All-Star game win pct and post All-Star game win pct. At least the Twins went on to win the division four of the next five years.

boy, I thought the Brewers in 2004 set that record for difference of first and second half. Maybe I'm wrong. Or maybe it was the NL record.
