Official Miller Park Food Thread

brewers19

I don't recall the last time that we had a thread discussing food, and I like food, so I'm starting one.

So, I recently came to the realization that they don't serve cheese curds (neither fresh nor fried) at Miller Park, which is frankly an abomination. They've got beer, they've got brats, so why not cheese? It's kind of a Wisconsin staple, and it seems like it should be something that Sportservice would be capable of providing, so it's kinda surprising that there's nothing of the sort.

Anyways, feel free to bring up any other food-related comments, complaints, etc.

I'm positive I saw some sort of fried cheese concoction last time I was at MP (Reds series). It looked like cheese curds but could have been mozzarella sticks (which I think they have on the club level)?

We need an expert.

On another note, the cheese fries in a helmet are simply amazing!

They've got deep fried cheese curds. I got some at the last game I went to (early August) from the concession stand just behind home plate on the field level. You don't get many, and you pay something like $4, but that's to be expected.

I to always wondered why they didn't have cheese curds, but colby you say they have them behind homeplate? I will check that out next game I'm at. I guess I still love a hot dog with stadium sauce on it and cheese fries in a helmet. Can't beat it.

Edit: With a nice Leinie's Red or Miller Lite to wash it down with.

Sometimes at games, my friends and I try to "eat for the cycle." This means that you have to finish a hot dog, a brat, an Italian and a Polish in 9 innings. When they added the Chorizo at some of the concession stands and in the race, we were faced with a dilemma. A dilemma we have not yet resolved. What do you guys think, should "eating for the cycle" require that you eat all five sausages or should it remain the traditional four to be more equivalent to hitting for the cycle?

Fried cheese curds? Cheese fries? Brats?

Maybe the Brewers should open a stand where you can get an angioplasty. It would be nice to keep the fan base alive. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Well, AJAY, they've been pimping weight loss surgery quite a bit on recent telecasts. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Food for me? Nachos Grande at just about every game plus a brat & stadium sauce at at least some games. Also, peanuts--carried in.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

The Chorizo is the BB in this scenario. I'd say you wouldn't need it for the cycle, but it makes it look even more impressive. If they ever offer a veggie sausage, that'd be reaching on an error.

I got a big pretzel last time I was there. I'll never get another one again unless it is without salt. The amount of salt and butter that was on it made it gross. I'm not a big food guy at games, Its too pricey for me. Although I do buy a soda that costs like 4 bucks.

I would say at $4 I will settle for unfried, carry-in cheese curds. I don't buy food or drinks at the park. I carry everything in using the free ball and glove cooler I got a few years back.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

They do have a veggie sausage. It's only served in one place though. You have to go to "Gorman's Grill" in the right field bleachers to get one. I had a GF that was a vegetarian and we would always have to take the walk over there to get one.

I usually get a brat and a bag of peanuts. Sometimes I get the peanuts off the guys on Bluemound. It's like popcorn at a movie, I know it's a rip off but I have to get it. I just can't help it.

I also usually buy 3-4 tall beers. So a day at the park is at least $30.00 + a ticket. But it's entertainment.

That $30 is a ticket to another game to me. As far as popcorn at the movies, I figure that for the price of taking your significant other to a movie you can buy the DVD when it comes out. I know, I know, it is all about the experience. I guess I am just getting old and cynical.

I agree it's a rip off and you definitely do the wiser, smarter and more frugal thing. When I'm out with my friends though it's nice to not really care about things and just have a good time. It's not like I go to every game. And we buy cheap seats so we can....enhance, our game more. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Made it to MP for the first time this season last saturday for the Reds game. Now I've tried my fair share of stadium food at MP in my past experiences, but the chicken nacho grande behind home plate by the mix drink stand is simply amazing. I am forever in debt to that stand.
