By the way, this game is a good example of how impressive Webb's scoreless innings streak was. He and Suppan are pitching very well tonight and have still given up runs.

Webb sure missed the strike zone a lot here in the 6th, but it can't be a good sign that in spite of that and many favorable counts, Braun & Jenkins still struck out to end the inning.

 

If Gameday's pitch location is close to correct, Jenkins could've walked if he hadn't swung at practically everything again.

What has happened to the middle of our lineup?

1) Ryan Braun is hitting .214 with an OPS of .790 without Prince behind him. That would explain most of it, lol.

I know 3-4-5 are the thumpers, but what happened to hitting the ball to the right side or, heaven forbid, still trying to drop down a bunt to move Counsell over with fewer than 2 outs?

 

For all the early season talk of manufacturing runs, we sure don't do much of it these days. Kinda like the 2nd half of Garner's tenure in Milwaukee.
