8/21/07 IGT Brewers (Bush) at Arizona (Hernandez) 8:40 PM CT - Shootout at the OK Corral

I've never started one of these before - so lets hope I can bring some luck to the crew...

In honor of the AZ roadtrip and my love for the movie Tombstone (and all Westerns, really), I give you the one, the only, Val Kilmer:

Here's hoping Dave Bush treats the D-Backs like Holliday treated women, cards and booze: overwhelmingly, and with style...

This Dave Bush is straight out of a Western flick. Even without the 'stache, I still think he fits. I think the win yesterday clearly was the result of me changing my avatar, so here's to win #2 on The Patch! I love my Dave Bush, so let's go get them rattlers!

I was looking at Cirillo's pitching line and saw that he struck somebody out. Who was it, and what little league team does he play for?

Honestly, Cirillo is no pitcher, but he could at least hit 83 mph, which, unbelievably, is faster than the guy in our pen with the best ERA, Brian Shouse, can throw. Not that 'Rillo has anything on S'house on the mound...

On that subject however, I wouldn't mind seeing Gross (or Hardy?) on the mound for an inning in a blowout, but only if our BP is completely gassed.

To the subject of tonight's game, I feel like I'm an idiot for being excited and optimistic, because so many times this year a solid game is followed by a complete disaster and / or heartbreaker. But here I am, 4 hours 'til first pitch, waiting for the announcement of the starting lineups. I don't even wanna think of the resurgance of Jenkins, Hall, and Weeks, to accompany Braun and Fielder, as it just gets me way to excited, and will inevitably lead to disappointment. *sigh*

I'm not taking credit for it, far from that, but I know I mentioned a few weeks ago (sorry, unavoidable pun) that if Rickie can end up bringing his season BA to roughly .240-.250, our offense would get a needed adrenaline boost. He really seems to be seeing it well right now, which is just in time for the 2007 season.

As Automator mentioned yesterday, Rickie just needs to not operate in Rickie Standard Time, and join the rest of us - which he seems to be doing. Billy has been sporadic all year (obviously sans injury time), and he too seems to be sparking just as we need it. If/When (I tend to lean more toward the latter) Brawny starts to see it well again, this offense is going to be devastating - that is, if Prince & the others can keep swinging it!

It seems like, just in time for the crucial remaining stretch, JJ's got it going, Gross, Hart, and others are joining in, too. It'll be tough for the entire group to keep raking, but Estrada's not going to be this cold the whole way out, either. (right?)

The one and only Craig Counsell. Thats what I meant when I said his fears subsided when we were talking about Rillo being "unavailable" tonight

My lineup prediction tonight - 1) Weeks 2) Gross 3) Prince 4) Braun 5) Jenkins 6) Hall 7) Estrada 8) Hardy 9) Bush

Hernandez, like Davis, has some trouble finding the strikezone at times, so patience will be a necessity, which is why I'd like to see Weeks and Gross at the top tonight.

We really need this one, since we'll have our hands full with Webb tommorow, it'd really be nice to get a series victory in Arizona tonight.

Is Prince going to be player of the month? He's currently second in OPS behind Bonds (basically tied with Giles) but he's 1st in home runs, 3rd in RBIs. and hitting over .300

And because its just expected, Jenkins in August :.315/.351/.715

Not to hijack the thread, but this is Val's best role in my opinion,

Go Crew! I have a good feeling about tonight's game.

I'd say it's between Prince and Mark Teixeira, who's been ridiculously hot since going to Atlanta.
