Kenny Williams did what?

44Fishy

Can't believe the contract he gave Dye-
Jenkins option for next year doesn't look out of whack in comparison to this-
If I remember right, Dye came to Chicago on a 2-yr deal at $4.5mm and $5.5mm-

The Chicago White Sox made another step toward retaining veteran pieces to their team, signing right fielder Jermaine Dye to a two-year, $22 million contract extension. The deal includes a mutual option for 2010.

Dye, who was in the final year of a three-year contract, is batting .245 with 24 home runs and 62 RBIs this season. His name drew interest from the Boston Red Sox before the July 31 non-waiver deadline, but in a fashion similar to how the White Sox re-signed starter Mark Buehrle, Dye offered to give Chicago a hometeam discount rather than testing the free agent market.

Dye will receive $9.5 million in 2008 and $11.5 million in 2009. The mutual option is $12 million for 2010, with a $1 million buyout.

Since joining the Sox in 2005, Dye, the 2005 World Series MVP, has hit 99 home runs. He has hit 12 home runs since the All-Star break.

Chicago was 13 games under .500 entering Saturday night's game against the Mariners and had lost six straight.

During a 12-year career that has included stops with Atlanta, Kansas City and Oakland, Dye has batted .274 with 260 home runs and 879 RBIs in 1,434 games.

Last season, Dye batted .315 with a career-high 44 homers and 120 RBIs.
