I hate to say it...but I told you so.
Valentin is a switch hitter and yes he could turn around to hit the other way. I guess I fail to see your point before? Nm I get it now, you wanted to turn him around because he's worse vs lefties.

Ok Yost defenders let's hear ya.

First of all, there was only one post before the Gross double questioning the move... so it is pretty convenient to pile on way after the fact. Second of all, he could have PH for Linebrink, brought in T-bow and the same group would be all over him as well.

Don't see where you can get on him.. I say it was a 50/50 call at worse.

Ennder I meant after 1 pitch you go to Shouse, because once a switch hitter gets a pitch thrown to him he cannot switch to bat the other way. And with how good Shouse is against leftys, he most likely would have gotten the ground ball. Sorry it wasnt too clear.

Javier Valentin would definitely be on my "people who need to go away" list. When I saw him trotting in from the bullpen I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I hate when I'm right. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Hopefully we can at least get out of the mess only down 1.

Way to get out of it.. you know that we are good for another solo shot yet this game..so keeping it within one is vital..

Anybody bashing not walking Griffey or intentionally walking Hopper to face Hamilton? Pretty quiet on those two moves which in my opinion were also 50/50 judment calls.

I'm pretty sure that's not true. You can switch sides of the plate during an AB. I didn't look it up but don't you think that if it was true that teams wouldn't do it all the time?

A batter may switch to the other box after every pitch if he so desires. He may do it on any ball strike count. One of the oldest myths in baseball is the one that says you can't switch boxes when you have two strikes on you.

The only restriction on the batter is that he may not step into the other box after the pitcher is in position ready to pitch. Rule 6.06(b)

Hitters are allowed to switch sides as long as no pitcher is on the rubber, so I don't think that would work.
