Packers to trade Ferguson

jaybird2001wi

On jsonline.com's newswatch, there are reports that the Packers will trade Ferguson tomorrow. He may have been injure prone, but who will be their third wide receiver? James Jones? Carlyle Holiday? This is why Favre has gone psycho.

Here is jsonline.com's report:

The Green Bay Packers are interested in trading Robert Ferguson and have asked the veteran wide receiver not to practice. The Packers expect to have a resolution on the matter tomorrow morning.

"Robert will no longer be a Packer," said Packers head coach Mike McCarthy. "We're going to go in another direction. We're moving on with the other guys and that's where it stands right now."

Ferguson, a second-round draft pick of the Packers in 2001, has had a history of injuries during his six-year career. He's started 26 of the 60 regular-season games he's appeared in, including a single start last season.

This summer, Ferguson has had a mediocre training camp and has been outshined on special teams by fellow wide receiver Carlyle Holiday.

The only thing Robert Ferguson adds to a football team is special teams ability. Third receiver? You're darn right James Jones. Brett Favre might be unhappy with the weapons not added this off season but he's for sure not upset with Robert Ferguson being gone a year too late...sorry, but this has been expected.
