Craigs List

I have used it several times. I go there before going to ebay. I thihnk it's very reliable.

I just copy the address and paste it into my email at home or work. Then you can get responses to wherever you'd like.

So what are you looking for on there?

just curious...

I've always just replied with whatever email they give. Never had my computer force me to Outlook.

Bought and sold stuff on Craigslist. Bought a couch and a baby hiking backpack. Sold some random piece of my wife's wedding regalia. When buying, make sure folks want to let you see it first, and don't seem wierd (like they want to meet only after 11pm or something and don't work 2nd shift). I've tried to stick to the stuff that has pictures.

Its not really like eBay in that there is no bidding process, teh seller takes the best offer. You can get jacked when you make an offer, go to check it out, and they say they have another bidder who is offering 20 more or something. Walk away.

So, I've been okay with it.

I tried to sell a microwave on there once. Didn't work.

I did buy Red Sox tickets for face value off of there when I was in Boston. It was pretty cool. It's more free market than eBay I believe so buyer beware.

Actually, now that I think about it, I found my last apartment on Craig's List too.

I know a guy who had "a night of romance" with a girl he met on Craig's List, so it's way more than Ebay.
Ah, the infamous "Craig's List Casual Encounter". I wondered if anyone actually met on one of those. Maybe I should give it a try. http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/laugh.gif

I've bought a lot of stuff via craigslist and sold a few items too. It's really nothing like ebay, it's a just large, free, online classifieds site. For buying/selling, you read the ad, call or email to inquire, and then go to the seller's house to buy or not buy. I like it for selling because I like dealing with people via email rather than phone, so I can post an email address, no phone number, request that potential buyers email me.

My big beef with Craig's List is that it's basicaly only useful if you live in a big metro area. I live in a relatively small area (Jefferson County), and trying to advertise in the Madison or Milwaukee craigslists is pretty much pointless. There are many requests on their user board to add an area like Janesville-Beloit to give people in South Central Wisconsin more coverage, but they seem to fall on deaf ears. As someone who plays music as a hobby, it makes it difficult to find people to play with. At least one of their admins could post some sort of reasoning as to why they haven't added it, but you never get any response or feedback.

Their board design could be a bit less ugly looking, too, but that's a small point.

I'm gonna try and sell a toddler bed on there, my sister had lots of luck selling kids toys and such.

At first glance I thought you said that you were looking to sell a "toddler" before i went back and saw the rest of the sentence!

Oh, there have been times when it crossed my mind!http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/laugh.gif (I'm totally kidding.)

I bought a county stadium sign on there from a guy in south milwaukee who happened to be part of a demolition crew for the stadium.

I ended up also getting a full 1953 original wooden stadium seat #19 from him after having a nice chat about all the stadium stuff he had both for a total of $150 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gifhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I got the seat signed last week in yellow paint marker by Yount at the Tuesday '82 reunion game http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

So I love craigslist even though I have used it only once lol.
