Monona Terrace Jumpers

This morning in the WSJ there was an article about people jumping off the Monona Terrace.

As stupid as this looks, I have this urge to do this. I don't think I will though.

I'd be afraid because who knows how deep the lake is right there. What if it's only like 5 feet? Shallow water + high jumps = DEATH!!!

In the article it says that it is 30 feet deep right there. That is real hard to believe.

I read that story this morning. Even given the lake depth at that spot, it seems like there are still plenty of ways to be killed or maimed on that journey down.

The video clip says it was dated in 2003. These guys are probably not the same ones who were arrested recently.

 

I'll be honest. I used to do stuff like this when I was younger, although I never jumped from that high. Is anyone familiar with the Glacial Drumlin State Bike Trail? Outside Jefferson, there is a bridge going over the Rock/Crawfish River. It's probably 30-40 feet down to the water. I must have jumped off that bridge at least 100 times one summer.
