IGT 8/16 Cardinals (Wainwright) at Brewers (Bush) 1:05

mls4

That's what I've felt, Astronaut.

WHEN in hell will this end?

Sheets not being around again, just killed us. This rotation's fragile psyche just can't survive without another loss of its leader.

When they fail to make the playoffs this year (hell, they COULD finish with another losing record, the way this team's going), I can see Scott Boras in Prince's ear, telling him that the Brewers are not winners, and I think I can get you in as the Yankees' 1B when you're eligible for free agency...

"So if this fruit's a Brewer's fan, his ass gotta be from Wisconsin...(or Chicago)."

I really hope we don't go into next season with Turnbow as our closer.

I find it funny that people are complaining about Counsell who has been better than Weeks this year. Out of all the things to complain about this year I cannot fathom Counsell as a backup IF being one of them. Well except the fact we payed him $1M too much a year of course.

Yeah I get raelly annoyed about all the praise Eckstein gets when he has a good game, considering its pretty darn rare that he has one.

I honestly don't think Sheets would have made much of a difference. This team is full of guys lacking intestinal fortitude. Melvin better sort them out soon or the "window of opportunity" we all thought this team had for 3-4 years will be gone before we know what happened.

I think its more that Yost seems to think Counsell is a go-to clutch guy. Not that we have that guy right now, but I don't see how its always Counsell.

Hate to say, Geno, but they are mathematically still in the running to lose 100 games.

Of course, so is every team in the NL Central, at the moment.

Dear Brewers,

Haven't you messed with my mind, heart and moods enough by now?

Just a thought,

hawing.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Of all the days to bring that line up, why today? Bush actually put in a quality start today; 3 ER in 7 IP isn't the world's greatest line score, but it's better than we've been getting from most of our staff lately. I give him a lot of credit for today's outing. It's a loss because the offense let him down, but he did his part to keep the Brewers in today's game.

I'm about the furthest thing from "the eternal optimist", but am I the only one who thinks that the Brewers are going to kick the living (expletive) out of the Reds this weekend?

I'm not trying to make any big picture projections, just really feel like they're going to get right, at least for a few days.

Fielder will probably appeal his suspension and ask for more than 3 games....this team is somehow still in 1st place, technically even after today, but they've been circling the drain for about 2 months now. There are next to no bright spots regarding this team's play right now. They look like the Bad News Bears.

The Cards came in to Milwaukee and flat-out spanked them - the same Brewers team that is supposedly the NL's best home team just got swept out of a very meaningful series that had playoff implications (especially now that the Cards are 2.5 games back, having played 3 fewer games than the Brewers)

I hate to be Mr. Negativity PoopyPants, but the Brewers couldn't kick the living (expletive) out of the Wisconsin Woodchucks right about now.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

It was just one of those all-too-frequent calls where you have no idea what's going on. It was basically, "and Jenkins is there...(pause)...(mumble)..." and the next thing you know more runs have scored and he still hasn't told you exactly how the out turned into RBIs. Not very good at the play-by-play IMO.
