Does calling for the manager to be fired make you a bad fan?

sgtcluels
There is no such thing as a "bad" Brewer fan. Anybody who has stuck with this mess through the years must be a "good" fan. The only bad fans are Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs fans (or the team de jour). And the Brewers can use all of us they can find.

I guess the only real "bad fans", IMO, are the really belligerent or ignorant ones. You know, the drunk guy behind you at Miller Park who screams that the only reason Graffanino is on the team is because of the salary cap, or something like that (yes, I've seriously heard things like that said at Brewers games).

I also would not call them a bad fan. I do have a problem with the crowd that has this opinion though

When the Brewers win it is in spite of Yost

When they lose it is because of Yost

If you wanna rip on him because you dont agree with a certain decision that may or may not have led to a loss you at least have to give him some credit in wins. It goes both ways.

Lame

If only the team would spite Yost 25 or so more times this year. Realistically though I think it will be more like the When they lose it is because of Yost comment for the rest of the year. Man am I becoming a badder fan the more i post in this thread.

I don't think it makes you a bad fan, but calling for the firing of a manager whose team is still in first place probably makes you a non-realist

Really -- you realize that "first place" is nothing more than a measure of 4 teams arranged by geography.

The Brewers are 1st in the Central, Seventh in the NL, and last in some sort of stat somewhere

Another bad fan

When the rules refer to a mature posting environment, they're referring to acting like adults rather than posting adult content. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Also note that when the cuss filter produces something like "$*++%," it's the responsibility of the poster to edit it out and replace it with appropriate language.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

You can call for Yost to be fired, and still be a good fan. You just have to do it in the right way, in the right place.

Otherwise, we're all just a bunch of Stepford Fans, unable to express legitimate gripes.

Being a fan of the Brewers doesn't mean you have to be a fan of all the individual Brewers, or politely clap when they fail. You're entitled to make unhappy noises all you want--just don't interfere with others' enjoyment of the game.

I was plenty displeased with the Brewers during the late 90s, and I considered myself a good fan nonetheless.

1) The bolded item seems weird, because isnt it really "mature" adults that should be able to use psuedo foul language to emphasize a point. Sometimes I wonder about the rules and who and where they came from. IMO, people who don't want others to use fake poopy language are trying to mold and take care of younger children, which would contradict the environment portrayed by this rule (a place for adults). I'm all for banning naughty language, but fake naughty language? Really? Too far IMO.

2) The highlighted items are contradictory.

Tell ya what... if you want to discuss the rules further, let's take the subject to PMs or the Issues Forum. I must say, though, that like them or not, you certainly seem to have a firm grasp of the rules. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
