Will be receiving playoff ticket invoices soon

Pedro

I just want to say, "Holy Crud, Batman!" I have a 20-game package in the Terrace Box like hawing and that is a ton of money! And I live in AZ so there's no way I can make any games but the WS (my wife's dad and sister use the tickets every year). We're going to have to have a serious discussion about potentially spending $1800 on stuff I'm not even going to use for the most part. I've never put something up on ebay before; I guess I may have to.

Why on earth can season ticket holders not be given the option to just order INDIVIDUAL game tickets? Why MUST you order the ENTIRE strip of tickets? That's absurd. I understand WS tickets are pricey. My 2001 series tickets were pricey back then. But they should give the option to at least just buy what you can afford, not all or nothing!

I am in the Loge Diamond Box

NLDS 270

NLCS 790

WS 1360

I am in section 212 row 4

Keep in mind that this is saying that we

1) Make the playoffs

2) Have home field advantage

3) Take every series as far as possible

3) Go as far as the World Series and game 7

Seriously, if this whole figure were applied to future 20 game packages for our current seats, we'd be paid up through at least 2009 - 2010 if the prices did not change (though I assume they will).

The most vexing thing for me is, I was kind of shaking a little (with excitement) upon opening the envelope. I hate the thought of their getting me this hyped up without delivering. So, I guess they'd better deliver.

I had the same feeling upon opening them. I was very young for 1992 but I remember that we had all of our strips to the games that never happened. Also we can have a cash refund if they do not make it right?

The information sent with the invoice says:

"You will not forfeit any ticket or parking strip payments for games that are not played. SSHs (season seat holders) will have several options related to unused Postseason ticket money. One option will allow SSHs to apply unused Postseason money toward the renewal of 2008 season tickets. You will be receiving additional information in your 2008 Season Ticket Renewal Packet, including the option to receive a refund, in the near future."

The only expenditure that is not refundable is the shipping/delivery charge (unless the tickets are never shipped, which I suppose is possible if things go badly enough by the ticket mailing date).

I assume MLB is making them capitalize Postseason.

If I had season tix I'd definitely place the order. If they do make the playoffs, I imagine they'll offer full strips for sale to anyone to puts down a deposit for 2008 tickets, regardless of if you have 2007 season tix, and that's what I'll do rather than paying eBay prices.

I'd hope that for $25 dollars S & H, the package would be well-insured, easily trackable, and set up where the recipient has to sign to receive it. I'd also hope it covers the cost of re-printing tickets that might get lost in the delivery process.

By the way, I think 1982 upper deck playoff packages were about $125 for the whole shebang. That'd be one less round of playoffs, of course.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Do they care if you sell them on eBay for an inflated price? Not that I am intending to.

Well, I'm not sure about that, but they will allow you to sell them on ticket replay on brewers.com (I did this for one of the Giants games in July and got twice the face vaule for my 3 seats). Other than the fact that it's not a bidding process (you have to set a price) and that they don't allow for you to sell parking, ticket replay works nicely in that you don't have to worry about delivering the tickets, the Brewers take care of that (they reprint the tickets for the buyer and deactivate your tickets).

As of yesterday on stubhub.com there were already 2 people that put up Miller Park playoff tix for resale:

http://www.stubhub.com/milwaukee-brewers-playoff-tickets/

As you can see, they are asking for quite a premium.

"We are unable to provide refunds or exchanges for lost tickets. If your tickets are stolen, a valid police report will be required in order to receive consideration for replacements."

For some reason, that was my favorite part of the mailing. That said, It's my understanding that the tickets would be delivered via Fed Ex, though skimming over my mailing I can't confirm that.

EDIT: Check that, I just found it on the flap, FedEx is indeed the shipping method.

My dad has had a 20 pack of two terrace box seats since 2001. His cost also came to around $1800, like Hawing's. He stayed in the same section and row (row 1!) and just moved a few seats closer to the aisle.

He went to all the postseason games in 1982. His grand total for six games, for four seats in the second row of the bleachers (right behind the 392 sign in right center)? $153. Crazy.

well, I think we will be buying the package (haven't received my invoice yet) and then put most of them up on ebay/the Brewers Ticket replay thing/or selling to Brewerfan.net members or something.

I know my wife's dad and sister will likely use the 2 tickets for 1 NLDS game, and probably 1 NLCS game but that would be all, I'd imagine. We're only flying up from AZ if they make the World Series, so I'll have to recoup this money somehow.

Did I read correctly that credit cards will not be charged until October?

Nope, your credit card will be charged September 7th for the Division Series and the National League Championship Series. If the Brewers clinch a post season berth your card will be charged additionally for World Series tickets on October 3rd. Should the need arise for a tiebreaker game, your card will be charged October 1st for that game.

"...payment is due no later than September 7th, 2007 (for Division and LCS tickets). On Septembers 7th, you need only to submit payment for the Division Series and the National League Championship Series...If the club clinches a spot in the post season, your credit card will be charged for World Series tickets on October 3rd, 2007"

Looked at my playoff sheet today and for 2 seats in section 125 (we were moved from sec 118 ) the prices are

Event Total one ticket
NLDS $300 $50
NLCS $800 $100
WS $1,530 $255
Tiebreaker $82(w/parking) $35
parking/gm
Parking $250 $25
S&H $25 $25
$2,987

I have a question for anybody that sits in section 124, 125 or anyone that faces this problem. When I was at the game today I looked at the view from sec 125, and the only problem is that every time someone walks down the aisle your view of HP and the pitching mound is blocked. My question is, is this a big issue for you guys, does it get annoying, etc?

My season tickets are in 126 and its true this is an issue, but it seems to be getting better honestly. More people seem to be understanding to come at least inbetween batters, if not innings. However that will probably go out the window come playoff time. Overall its not to bad, its not a constant stream, and you mostly only notice the people in the most immediate aisle to you.

I would love to get postseason playoff tickets, but I don't want to spend $3000 if I'm going to miss 30% of the pitches due to people walking past me. Is it so big of a deal you would suggest not getting them or is it really not that bad.

I bought a 9 pack to start the season with my wife and one for my two year old to get off of our laps. My inlaws bought two seats next to us in the same row. With that said, we did do the upgrade to the 20-pack in July for two of our 5 seats ( to help us guarantee the WS tickets that the 9-pack wasn't eligible for) and our total bill for the Sec. 209 Row 13, seats 15, 16, (same section as our regular seats, 11 rows higher) runs for $2000. However, we are going to probably split the cost of the package and alternate who goes and who doesn't. Basically, making it a bit more affordable for the family, plus we will have a baby sitter too during the playoff action!!

Realistically, I doubt all the games will be played so therefore I could see around $600-$800 total in the amounts that will come out of my pocket. Plus as mentioned the secondary market will be a good place to unload a game or two to help defray costs further, if necessary.

The only thing that I don't understand is, what happened to our 9 pack? I mean, we have 3 seats that we didn't upgrade and we were never given any options for those seats to buy any tickets for the first two rounds of games. Not that I would have done it anyway based on the cost, but what have you other nine pack people been offered???

Was this a magazine or just a letter sent?

I haven't gotten my invoice yet, and I moved since I ordered my season tickets in December....

All my other mail is still being forwarded, so I suppose I will contact my ticket agent if it doesn't come today.

I don't have the form in front of me right now, but what is troublesome to me is that on the form somewhere is states something like "Although we are offering partial season ticket holders playoff tickets we can not guarantee this offer in future years"

So, your telling me that I have been a partial season ticket holder (13 games, 15 games, and 20 games as they changed their packages throughout the years) since 1993, remained loyal throughout all those wonderful years in the 90's, and you are telling me that this may be my only shot to get playoff tix??!! If they don't make it this year, I may be out of luck. And don't give me this "may not" cr$%, Will you or won't you? Because if not, I probably will cancel my 20 game pack going forward.

Looking at the form now, Partial SSH were assigned comparable locations for the 2007 postseason. For future postseasons, they will not be able to guarantee seating locations. I assume this means that if one has a 20 game pack in the Loge Diamond Box, they might be sitting in the normal Loge seats, in the Terrace Level, or anywhere else. The original package sections may not be guaranteed.

About the people walking down the aisles when the play is going on...

I wish at least for the playoffs they would do what the NHL does. Or at least they did this at the only NHL game I've been to in St. Louis.

They only let people go back down to their seats when play was stopped. I assume to avoid people from getting hit with a puck while they are looking for their seat.

"Although we are offering partial season ticket holders playoff tickets we can not guarantee this offer in future years"

I don't have the brochure with me either, but I remember that part, and interpreted it as seat locations not being guaranteed after this year (not ticket availability). Not that they all seem to be guaranteed this year, either, based on other posts in this thread.

The statement in the brochure stood out for me - not only because it stands to affect our seats in "future postseasons", but what is there about this season that made it possible to 'guarantee' seat locations that is already known to no longer be an option in the future?

I wonder how actively the Brewers will encourage current SSHs to upgrade their ticket packages this off-season. Dollar wise, it would be relatively easy (unless the Brewers play a full postseason slate and there are no deposits to refund). In our case, they'd already have up to $1800 from us; wouldn't that be a relatively painless way to re-up for more seats and/or more expensive seats? (Not for everyone, but if I were the Brewers, I'd consider that approach.) Of course, if the Brewers make the postseason, or at least finish strong, demand should skyrocket too, which might make things even out.

Getting back more to the original topic, I suppose if the relative success of 2007 leads to a steep increase in the number of full-season customers for 2008, partial-season customers would presumably be the next group bumped.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
