Will be receiving playoff ticket invoices soon

Pedro

Pedro,

Have not been home yet, so I'm curious to how they did the pricing. It's been decided that the AL has HF advantage in the WS. However, how did they do the NLDS and NLCS? The team with the best record get HF advantage there...correct? Did they just assume HF advantage for invoicing purposes?

Also, how did the pricing go for each series? I assumed that the pricing for the NLDS would be just slightly above regular season prices, NLCS would be double, and I wasn't sure about WS (anywhere from $75 to $350 depending on the seats I guess).

Yes, they assume HF for all games, but also assume a one game playoff. Obviously they won't both happen (since they would just to a tie breaker to decide HF). So no matter what you should recieve some of that money back. By my estimation, my bleacher seats will cost close to the full ticket value. I'll let you know latter tonight, if it's in my mailbox.

All-Star Sham

I got taken by the "Sham" too. Went to the exhibition game, saw all the stars play. Saw a great catch by T. Hunter. I felt so cheated that there wasn't a winner in a game that had no consequence.

Here's how they broke out the pricing (I have four Club Level seats):

Division Series Price: $600

NLCS: $1,440

One-Game Tiebreaker: $100

World Series: $2,760

Parking Division & NLCS: $175

Parking Tiebreaker: $12

Parking World Series: $75

S&H: $25

Total savings off gate price: $420

Division/NLCS: Credit Card processed 9/7

Tiebreaker: Credit Card processed 10/1

World Series: Credit Card processed 10/3

Season tickets have the opportunity to purchase Bonus Postseason stips at gate rate in Terrace Level: $775 (Terrace Reserved), $905 (Terrace Box).

$225 a ticket for a World Series game? Assuming they are $36 tickets, a 625% markup? In contrast, the divisional series is very reasonable ($50/ticket) and the NLCS is doable ($90/ticket).

Yep, $230 a ticket for World Series; during the regular season, as part of the full season package, $25 per ticket.

I'm not sure I can afford for the Brewers to go to the Series.

I have 3 20 packs, think I'm gonna pass on playoffs. Baseball thanks the loyal Brewers fans for their 25 years of patience by jacking the prices 625%?????? We're not going to make the playoffs anyway. Moot point.

The team decides the prices, except the WS. MLB dictates to the teams how much they must charge for WS tickets. That's why they are so expensive, because MP's tickets are so cheap compared to other stadiums. MLB gets a small cut of all playoff tickets, so the team must raise them a little to cover that cost plus however much they want. MLB gets most of the WS money so they set the price super high. In my brochure the Brewers apologize for the high WS prices and explain that the price is out of their control.

My brochure came. $907 for one seat plus parking. And they are moving me from section 104 to section 204. For the record, my season ticket cost $810. So if I apply it to next year's tickets, they will still owe me money back. Minus the shipping charge, which is $25.

And they are moving me from section 104 to section 204.

So they've decided where you'd be sitting already? I'll be intrigued to see what comes in our mail.

Not that it'll be relevant, if many more games turn out like the last five have.

Can you buy for just some games or is it all or nothing? By when do you have to respond? At some point they need to determine how many will be available to non-season ticket holders and put them on sale.

S&H: $25

how do they plan on delivering these things? sounds like an e-bay ripoff shipping rate to me. isnt it only one mailing? or would they mail each series separately after advancing?

It's an all or nothing scenario as far as games. Payment is due no later than September 7.

I hope it would be via some reasonably secure method - both to justify the S/H charge and to reduce the chance of their falling into the wrong hands. I could see people watching the news for the "playoff tickets were mailed today" blurb and then rifling through people's mailboxes.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say how pleased I am that this general conversation is even plausible (the last week notwithstanding).

I got mine today as well. The prices are mostly good IMO, with the exception of the WS, but it is what it is. The price for the division series is only about $12 more per ticket than what I paid for my package tickets.

And I would think they'll take caution with the delivery of the tickets, because they even state to treat them like cash. Hopefully they require a signature.

Anyone know if the 9 game plans are getting these as well? I know we only get two playoff games, so I'm wondering if they'll wait until after the deadline for the full and 20 plans to respond before sending anything out to us.

Well, I wasn't sure what to expect based on the experiences reported here (besides a boatload of $). But here it is, for our two TB seats that since 2002 have cost us $14.00 per game (for paying by the season ticket deadline):

$138 for NLDS

$400 for NLCS

$28 for the tiebreaker

$1080 for the Series

$158 for parking ($8.00 general for the tiebreaker, $15 for the other games)

$25 shipping/delivery

And our section did not change; in fact, we move a few rows closer to the field. My guess is that we've been ticket holders long enough to not be moved. My second guess would be that they're keeping us in the family section, except I'd be surprised if they retained family sections for the postseason (I think they did not for the all-star events).

Seriously, if this whole figure were applied to future 20 game packages for our current seats, we'd be paid up through at least 2009 - 2010 if the prices did not change (though I assume they will).

The most vexing thing for me is, I was kind of shaking a little (with excitement) upon opening the envelope. I hate the thought of their getting me this hyped up without delivering. So, I guess they'd better deliver.

I'm not sure why anyone would pass on the opportunity to purchase these tickets. If you don't have the money to purchase then charge, borrow, do what ever you have to do. Even if you don't plan on going, you will definitely be able to sell them for a profit (note that they are sold to season ticket holders at a discount) of at least twice what you paid or more. I guarantee it. Why would anyone pass on that opportunity? You'll be kicking yourself when you see what people are willing to pay for the tickets in the secondary market.

My tix came to about $3,750 (3 tix). That's more than I can really afford. My plan would be to sell one game of each series. I'm betting that I could pay for the whole thing by doing that.

By the way, as some one else mentioned, the Brewers have nothing to do with the pricing of the WS tickets.

To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised with the pricing.

We are 20-pack holders in the field bleachers (moved to loge bleachers sec. 235 for the playoffs). It's $20/game for the Division Series, $40/game for the NLCS, and $130/game for the World Series. You would be hard pressed to get a better deal - heck, you can't even get decent regular-season Bucks tickets for that much, and this is the freakin' NLCS! Also, the potential one-game tiebreaker would be our regular price of 10 bucks.

If by some stroke of luck we advanced to the World Series, I have a feeling that we would sell off at least one of the games to recoup some of the money.
