Prince suspended 3 games (Update: Now 2 games, sits 8/24 and 8/25)

Madtown Bomber
I'll only be irritated if the response to the appeal is mysteriously expedited (as it wasn't for other players, such as Derrek Lee). I have this tiny fear of the response coming just in time for Prince to have to sit vs. the cubs.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Isn't there something quirky about the appeals process. How a player can only do it in person, so that requires an off day that's not a travel day, or a trip to NYC (or when teams play the Mets/Yankees). Maybe it's one of the leagues, but I thought that was how it worked, so players know it'll be a while before they can actually present their appeal... or maybe it was like this but MLB has changed the rules. Either way, I believe it can be a drawn out process that could end up into next season.

Brewers face lefty lefty the first two games of the series. I bet that had something to do with it.

Yost apparently prefering to give guys off 2 days in a row, coupled with the two lefties makes it a no-brainer to serve it now. Not having Graffy as the backup 1B makes this hardly hurt at all. I look forward to Dillon mashing a couple lefties.

While there is no such thing as a good time for this to happen it's the best it could be given the circumstances. Two lefties, a team that isn't very good, and Dillon seems to be hitting the ball as well as anyone could expect right now.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I doubt it only because it not like Fielder dropped his appeal to coincide with this weekends match ups. Once your appeal is heard you have no choice but to start serving your suspension immediately. His appeal was heard yesterday, on the off day which meant the decision was out of the Brewers hands at that point.

The only thing that bothers me about this whole thing is the process. It's as if the initial suspension is a sham. The appeal procedures just a ploy, and in the long run no one learns a lesson and the ill-behaviors continue. I'd wish baseball would do several things:

A) immediate appeal, next day off
B) no shortening of the initial punishment, or a wiping clean of the entire suspension, and
c) like in Formula One racing, if you lose the appeal the suspension and fine increases, and finally
d) an honest process whereby players can actually win the appeal and not have the unpire's power simply rubber stamped.

Oh yeah, and begin the suspension at the discertion, and as quickly as possible, of MLB.

That's weird. Sportsline has Misch (lefty) as the starter for Saturday.

Still, a horsecrap suspension. I hope Fielder stones one of those kayakers on Sunday.

Yeah, I'm going to all three games this weekend and I'm chapped because this reduces the possibility of seeing Prince crank the Splash Hit he's more than capable of.

He'll get a few in his career, I'd guess.

Giants website also shows Correia listed as starter but mentions the possibilty of lefty Patrick Misch. Neither are really stretched out to any degree so it would appear Giants are planning a "bullpen day" for that game.

Now if their smart they would realize that starting a righthander might bring about Brewer fans worst nightmare, Craig Counsell playing 1st replacing Prince.

Having said all that, watch Yost insert Damian Miller with his .118 post all star BA in there at first like he did once earlier this season.
