Anyone else getting this Bioshock game?

Schlitz001

I'll be honest, I haven't touched my Xbox 360 in a couple months. It's nice outside, I got bored of 2k7 baseball and it's been collecting dust ever since. I started browsing gamefaqs.com to see if any good games were coming out soon and I came across Bioshock. Apparently there is a lot of hype around this game, in fact LARGE amounts of hype.

Here is a podcast claiming that Bioshock is easily the Game of the Year

Here is a video review giving it a 5/5

These are the some reviews for the game so far:

PC Gamer UK: 9.5

OXM UK: 10

Game Informer: 10

Alternative Press: 10

Xbox World: 9.4

Gamers: 9.8

Gametrailers: 5/5

PC Zone: 96%

I probably sound like a paid advertisement for this game, but I feel like it's been so long since I REALLY enjoyed a good quality gaming experience. Maybe this will be it. Rumor has it that there will be a playable demo available on Monday for the Xbox 360. The game itself is going to be released on the 21st for Xbox 360 and PC.

This game is going to be awesome from what I can tell from the demo. Took me about 30 minutes to beat the demo and I was in awe the whole time. The graphics are unbelievable, gameplay is great with only two plasmids (over 70 total in full game), and the big daddy/little sister enemy combination is very creepy and very innovative. You don't face any big daddy/little sister combos in the demo, which is probably smart on the developers part for not giving away the biggest part of the gameplay. If you own a 360 it is definitely worth a download of the demo. Believe the hype on this game.

Downloading the demo right now, but still not sure whether i'm going to spend most my gaming time playing this or Mass Effect. As of right now Mass Effect looks better , but maybe this demo will change my mind. Either way i'm getting both, and this fall is going to be one of the best quaters for video gaming, especially if you own a 360.

Halo 3 will needs to be more than just Halo to win. Right now Bioshock, COD4, Assassin's Creed, and Mass Effect look to have better shots.

I am not saying that those games won't be better, just that Halo would have to step WAY wrong not to win game of the year. If it is even close, Halo will win.

"Just Halo" has been good enough to presell 2 million copies so far. "Just Halo" is like saying "Just GTA". You might as well call Xbox Live and Xbox 360 Halo Live and Halo360.

I am actully looking forward more to Mass Effect. I was hoping Blue Dragon would turn out good, but it got bad reviews. I might still get it though.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Halo 3 will sell a lot of copies, Microsoft is openly predicting first dale sales of over 2.5 million and given they have incentives to underestimate that number you could easily see like 2.75 million first day. And there is no reason to expect it to be less than quality. But its hardly going to push how people view games which is why it might win a bunch of fan choice awards but up against Bioshock (changing how shooters work), COD4 (much more traditional but very high quality), Mass Effect (huge scope plus revolutionary dialouge) and AC (changing action adventure framework). And that doesn't even go into Nintendo first part titles for the Wii like Mario, Metroid, and Smash Brothers.

It took a while for me to get into it at first, but now I can't put the controller down. There is a LOT to do in this game to keep you busy. The environments are gorgeous and the story line is great. I'll try and post a short review when my normal life resumes as scheduled. I can tell already though that I'm going to have to play it through twice.

I'm pretty sure it will go into my queue of PC games that I will buy when they are $10-20 and will play it then. Heck, I've still got about 10 unopened PC games waiting in the closet to play--including Half-Life 1! man, I'm so behind the times!
