Aramis Ramirez' injury may cause him to miss time

May not be making the trip to Colorado, going to be seeing a doctor to get his wrist examined. It's not certain yet, but he may end up on the DL.

Soriano is gone for the next month. Ramirez' status is unknown. The division is literally being handed to us on a silver platter. We cannot fail to take advantage.

Anybody else find it hilarious that as soon as Kerry Wood actually made it back to the big league roster, the rest of the Cubs team has started dropping like flies? Soriano's quad, Ramirez's wrist (and balky knee), Pagan's colitis, Ohman's shoulder....it's like Kerry Wood is the plague!

While you don't want to wish injury upon anyone...I don't see anything wrong with wishing it upon a Cub so long as it's not serious as in season/career ending or family injury, etc. We pretty much need to take what we can get.

If Aramis does get a stint on the DL, we need to find a way to be atleast four games ahead by the time him and Soriano are back.

No, I doubt it, the Cardinals still just flat out aren't good enough. They make our pitching staff look like Cy Youngs. Heck, who knows, the Astros could make a run at this point

Some believed that our best chance to hold off the Cubs was to have Kerry Wood return. Like a curse or something.

Take it for what it's worth. The Cubs are 1-5 since Wood's return.

That's pretty good over on the "inside the ivy" forum - those guys are read to jump out a window. Scutaro was mentioned but they don't believe he'd clear waivers. Glaus is mentioned, but they a) doubt the Cubs would pick up his contract (I think they actually would in a heartbat), but b) assume an AL team would claim him before he fell to the Cubs.

Seriously the Brewers have to start winning some games. The Astro's are licking their chops right now. They just swept the Cubs and gained 3 games and are thinking it's time to do the same to the Brewers and pull to within 4 or 5.

This team needs to dig real deep and figure it out. They need to forget everything that has happened and go out and play a game at a time every day and do everything they can to win. It's time to go on a small rally. And by rally I mean .500 ball.

I actually really hate to see this. Win or lose, I was looking forward to a race down the stretch. With Soriano and Ramirez down, I can't see how they're going to make it (if all of this is true.) I wanted to play them at full stength and as much as I hate Ramirez, I'd never wish this on him.

But IF this is all true and the Crew doesn't win the division, my head will likely explode.
