Chuckie Caufield

Recommended Posts

His age and his plate discipline cause him to be behind about 10 other outfielders, but he's having a great season, so you never know...

he's the kind of guy that may never be viewed as a top prospect, but could still have a decent major league career

in general when i say discipline, i'm referring to his walk rate...i should have clarified...

an older college hitter like caulfield should probably walk more than he does...that said, it's hard to argue with a .330 batting average

I agree with pogokat. The reason Caufield was drafted as a 4th year college senior and in a late round to boot, was his strikeout rate. Whether it was plate discipline or a hole in his swing it doesn't really matter.

So comparing him to Brewer is apples and oranges. 2 players at completely different stages in development.

That being said, give Caufield a lot of credit. He seems to be putting in the work to improve his game. This guy will be earning (the hard way) everything he attains. I know I'm rooting for the guy.
