it started off great. he called me back and we were having a decent conversation. until he asked me what my season ticket status was. i told him a 20 game season ticket holder. he replied than you are not really a season ticket holder but a partial ticket holder. as if that was important. thats when he became very interested in where my seats were. i told him terrace level and then he said well im glad i answered your questions, if you have any more just call. thanks for the help.

Weak freaking sauce.

That is remarkably similar to an exchange I had with a security "boss" during the SanFran series a few weeks back. I asked for assistance and the situation quickly turned to my season ticket holder status.

Wow that sucks Matt sorry that happened to you. I happened to be the first person in the Uecker line yesterday I was the one in the chair with my laptop. Their was a guy talking to some people in the line who is one of those with 50 some tickets just so he can sell them on ebay. He said he makes about 3 bucks per home uni bobble and about $10-15 more for a retro uni.

I had two club level tickets a uecker ticket and a standing room only ticket. I got a retro on my second trip in I went in 4 times in home plate because I have found the ushers to be a lot nicer to you when you do it this way instead of getting them all at once.

I did see the cop standing there I wonder what they are told to do for the time they stand there?

For the Don Sutton game I was offered $10 dollars for my blue from a lady who was with her family I said no since I collect them and told her that $10 was a little low for a price. This older gentleman sitting in front of me had a blue and sold it to her for $10. they left in the 8th inning and as she was getting up she was also getting a wad of money out most likely to buy bobbles off people as she left the stadium.

I see people all the time buying and or trading bobbles to get the blue/retro ones. so I think they just made this up on the spot and the guy told on you and the cop just happened to listen to him.

I have had bad experiances with guest relations in the past too like when I exchanged my broken Retro Bill hall for another Retro Hall and I did not notice until I got him the one they gave me had a piece of his right sleeve missing http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

I remember during the Gorman Thomas bobble night, some guy was sitting in his seat near us and every 10 minutes or so, he'd stand up - sometimes during the game itself - and scream (scream), "Gorman for 20 bucks! Who wants Gorman!!" He kept dropping his price but not his voice. It was annoying, but whatever. People started to yell back at him, he had no takers. By about the 6th inning, he stopped.

If you want to enforce a rule, start with that guy.

Matt that blows, it wasn't about that he wanted your retro. I would be very pissed as well.

Matt that sucks, guy sounded like a jerk. I to would love for you to keep us posted on what happens with this situation. That would be very neat if Mark A. gets back to you.

I cant belive he would call you a partial season ticket holder, sure its a 20 pack but you still spent a lot of money for a ticket package. That is BS.

Oh no you didn't just play the age card! http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif

Seriously though, once you challenge this crop of ushers and security, your done for. I'm guessing that it had more to do with the fact that these guys are never wrong. Seems like the easy answer this year is to toss someone out of the park.

wow. thats quite a generalization based on a small sample.

I would also say that anyone 28-32 yrs old thats dumpster diving prolly is suffering from a mental disability of some sort.

You misunderstood me. It appeared that the gentleman had nothing preventing him from getting a 9-5 job. What I did not mention was that he lived about 40 miles away from where he was dumpster diving. Instead of working a real job, he chose to drive to a Staples store 40 miles away at 10:30 at night.

Getting back to the original topic, Matt what exactly was the older guy doing wrong? Did he have tickets for all the bobbles he was getting, or was he exchanging the white ones for the retro ones? If he had tickets for the retro bobbles he was receiving, then what is the problem?

My suggestions is just to do away with all "special" bobblheads and just produce one.

Not a terrible idea. Easier for people who aren't that into it and don't want to spend that much money getting them all to get the whole set.

Or, they could always front the promotions as Trent Durrington, Chris Magruder or Joe Winklesas bobblehead night and then have the real ones instead. I'm guessing that would cut the excess crowds who are looking to do it purely for profit out of the picture.

If the Brewers ever overtly blow off any customer service concern I have upon hearing that we're ("only") 20 game ticket holders, or because we have terrace level seats, I'd be strongly inclined to either go straight to Mark Attanasio or sever our long-standing relationship with the organization. That the reception you got from that employee changed because of how much money you spend on the Brewers infuriates me, and I am not quickly angered.

If anyone from the Brewers is reading this, please remember that not all of your fan base is so flush with discretionary income or lives so close to Milwaukee that they can afford full season tickets - whether monetarily, time-wise, or both. For almost fifteen years, we have put the lion's share of our entertainment budget toward the Brewers, and have invested countless hours not only attending games but making a 3 hour round trip for each and every one. It's fewer games than other fans can attend, but it is all we can fit into our lives (and, sometimes, possibly more than we should). Our ticket rep has never made me feel second class, which makes me all the more surprised and distressed at the response you received.

Brewers employees, don't ever marginalize the loyalty of your smaller-time customers. Many of them give all that they can to your organization.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

i would love it if they only did one bobblehead, a lot of teams do that, but then they only hand it out to the first 20-25,000 fans, the way the Brewers do it, it draws a huge croud. If all of 40,000 were the same, they wouldn't be worth as much. Which is fine, but the way they do it now, it appeals to both the collector and the regular fan who just wants to go to a game, but I would be more than happy if they only did one jersey.
