My defense of Cordero--He was obviously supposed to sit out today or they would not have used Wise. He didn't have it today. He is over 30 after all. Can't run him out time and again without rest. In any case, it is just ridiculous to leave him in for 40 pitches when he has no control. I'd rather Spurling come in and give up a grand slam than just walk the game away. Ned has much too long a collar when guys have no control out of the pen, in my opinion.

Just because some guy who happened to be scoring the game thought so. That play needs to be made.

 

At the very least it needs to be knocked down so only 1 run scores. Letting it go through clean has to be an error.
