Mozilla didn't work on these boardsâ?¦ and other browser-specific issues

Recommended Posts

When reading Yuku's FAQs, they really, really encourage the use of non-IE browsers and specifically mention Firefox by name. As a matter of fact, Yuku offers a nifty Firefox extension that I recommend trying.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Weird, the site doesn't work very well with Safari (the Mac browser) for me, so I downloaded Firefox (I already use it on my PC, but Safari seems to be pretty good security-wise) and it works perfectly, except for one thing:

That part on the top of the page that goes like this:

Brewerfan.net Fan Forum > Brewerfan.net Issues & Events

Is in a white font so it's invisible unless I highlight it, which is slightly annoying because I use those links a lot to navigate. Is that happening for anyone else?

The two main problems that I've run into with Safari are:

1. The posting toolbar (links, images, bold, italic, etc.) doesn't appear in the post composition page.

2. The browser crashes whenever I deal with one of those confirmation pop-up windows ("Yes, I want to make this person my friend." or "Are you sure you want to logout?"). These are mere annoyances, and I like Safari way too much to switch over to Firefox.

I like it too, I only have been using Firefox to browse this site. I couldn't successfully edit my profile while I was in Safari for some reason. I would get it how I wanted it, then it would reset back to blank for no particular reason. That got annoying fast, so I figured I would try their recommended browser and it's been a lot better. Safari is still my main browser though.

b19, I'd suggest Camino, which is very nice, but that doesn't really address the issue of you being forced to leave your favorite browser to use a site that you direct.

I tested the other Safari-based browsers on my system (OmniWeb and Shiira); they have the same issue with the post editor. The editor works fine in all my other browsers.

JoeHova, I've seen the breadcrumbs (navigation path) disappear in more than one browser. It must be a broader-based issue.

I've been getting that little white box to click on as well. I'm getting used to it, but its still somewhat annoying. I though the problem might have just been with my browser/computer, but now that someone else is having that problem hopefully it can be fixed.

JoeHavva, I'm using IE 6.0.2 (only because I'm at work) and the bread crumbs are white. So I doubt it's an issue with Mozilla.

B19, the solution is easy. Don't make anybody your friend and don't log out http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
